    Anchorage Private Tour

    Great Land Adventures
Are you ready for this jam-packed description? Okay, this incredible 3-hour adventure begins with an origin story -- head to Ship Creek where Anchorage was first settled in 1911. There, you'll find a thriving salmon stream, frequented by many a downtown angler. In this location you'll also be able to spot the original location of the Anchorage rail terminal for the historic Alaska Railroad. From there you'll hit Earthquake Park and Point Woronzof to take in the stunning view of the Anchorage skyline set against the backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. Next, stop at the busiest seaplane base in the world, Lake Hood. You'll get a great view of all of the local bush pilots as they expertly land their planes and taxi to their landing docks. After this, you'll get to see the infamous Turnagain Arm and Beluga Point and try to spot Beluga whales, Dall sheep, mountain goats, black bears, and bald eagles. Your journey continues into Potter's Marsh and the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge, a protected wildlife habitat home to many migratory species of birds in the summer. Climb the stunning vistas of Flattop Mountain and get a bird's-eye view of the Municipality of Anchorage (which is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island!). You'll also get stunning views of Sleeping Lady, Denali River, and on clear days, the Alaskan Range. After that, head back downtown where your guide will point out the best restaurants, bars, gift shops, and art galleries before bidding farewell. All that in 3 hours? Whew! What an itinerary!
