    Alpine Glacier Adventures

    Up for some fun in Alaska? Like, way up? Take your notions of excitement to new heights with a helicopter ride over Tongass National Forest! Your day begins with a pickup from your hotel (or another location) and transportation to Juneau International Airport. After getting outfitted with a backpack full of glacier trekking gear and an orientation, you'll rise above the city and fly across a temperate rainforest leading up to beautiful mountain peaks! Below, you'll spot the Juneau Icefield, which encompasses a staggering 1,500-square miles.     Channel Islands Marine Park Kayaking

    Juneau what the best park around is? Alask-ya again ... well, do ya? It's Channel Islands Marine Park of course! This trip combines a boat transport to an uninhabited island, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing for the ultimate eco-adventure! You will be picked up near your cruise ship or hotel and taken to the six passenger vessel. From there you will head out of the harbor into the waters of the Inside Passage to one of the Channel Islands, where you will trade in the boat for some kayaks. The next two hours will be spent paddling along the forested shore-line, searching for whales and other wildlife and enjoying the scenery. While on the water you may see humpback whales, harbor seals, steller sea lions, dall's porpoise, harbor porpoise, orca, numerous bird species (including bald eagles), and deer or river otters along the shore. Throughout this trip your expert guides and boat captain will share their local knowledge of the area, plus interesting information about the wildlife and their behavior.

    Glacier Lake Guided Kayak Trip

    Keeping the fun fluid is pretty simple when it comes to Mendenhall Lake. Well, other than the rivers of ice -- and the icebergs. Luckily you'll be in the hands of an experienced guide as you paddle around these obstacles in your very own kayak! Just a few miles from downtown Juneau, the Mendenhall Glacier has created a stunning playground for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to the aforementioned ice, you'll find yourself surrounded by sweeping vistas of rainforest-covered mountain peaks with powerful waterfalls plunging downward from atop them. While embodying the "real Alaskan" experience, this incredible adventure is open to paddlers of all experience levels. As you paddle, your guide will teach you everything you need to know, in addition to enhancing the experience with stories of intrepid naturalists. Roundtrip shuttle transportation from the cruiseship dock and local hotels is provided. Your adventure will take approximately 4.5 hours round trip and will include five to six miles of paddling. A snack and water are also provided. And ice. Lots of ice.
