    Chilkoot Horseback Riding

When it comes to exploring Alaska's incredible natural bounties, four legs are better than two! You'll find that out for yourself while prancing through the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. Saddle up for some fun! You'll begin your day with a quick driving tour of Skagway, followed by a scenic coastline ride to Alaska Excursions' Dyea ranch. There, after a brief safety presentation, you'll mount up beside an experienced handler and set off for nearly two hours of riding through the park. As you ride, you'll enjoy stories of the area's past, including tales of the Klondike Gold Rush. You'll see plenty of signs of those hectic times as well, such as the ruins of a former gold rush town and the Slide Cemetery. You'll also enjoy sweeping scenery featuring pristine mountain backdrops, sprawling forest, and Alaskan wildflowers. Riding out onto the Dyea flats, you'll spend some time taking in an overlook view of the Lynn Canal. This is a great chance to spot a range of native wildlife, including bald eagles! After returning to the ranch, refreshments such as Alaskan salmon pate await, before your ride back to Skagway. Vote "neigh" for adventure!
