    Glacier Turn Tour

Glaciers, Glaciers! Who wants a glacier! Get em while they're hot. Err... that came out wrong. But that does get to the heart of the matter here -- the world's getting hotter, and that doesn't exactly accommodate humongous prehistoric slabs of ice. These beauties won't be around forever, so come and check them out while you still have the chance. You'll start the trip with a complimentary ride from your hotel to Mt. Alyeska, where you'll take a tram up half a mile to the viewing decks of the Roundhouse Museum. Weather permitting, you'll be able to see several glaciers from there. Then you'll take the tram back down the big hill to one of the finest eateries in the very-northern United States; bottomless soup, sourdough bread, desserts, beverages, and a cozy atmosphere all await you. Then a quick stop at the Conservation Center, where you can see all types of animals, including bears, eagles, elk and bison, before heading off on a 1 hour cruise across Portage Lake to look at more glaciers. While you inspect Portage Glacier, on-board naturalists will tell you all about the ecosystem and the geology of this incredible area. So hop on this tour while you still can.
