    Channel Islands Marine Park Kayaking

    Juneau what the best park around is? Alask-ya again ... well, do ya? It's Channel Islands Marine Park of course! This trip combines a boat transport to an uninhabited island, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing for the ultimate eco-adventure! You will be picked up near your cruise ship or hotel and taken to the six passenger vessel. From there you will head out of the harbor into the waters of the Inside Passage to one of the Channel Islands, where you will trade in the boat for some kayaks. The next two hours will be spent paddling along the forested shore-line, searching for whales and other wildlife and enjoying the scenery. While on the water you may see humpback whales, harbor seals, steller sea lions, dall's porpoise, harbor porpoise, orca, numerous bird species (including bald eagles), and deer or river otters along the shore. Throughout this trip your expert guides and boat captain will share their local knowledge of the area, plus interesting information about the wildlife and their behavior.

    Stikine River Wilderness Adventure

    Located in the heart of Tongass National Rain Forest, the Stikine River is a majestic wilderness area with vast amounts of wildlife. Enjoy a fully guided tour of the Stikine LeConte Wilderness area in one of our covered, heated jet boats. Your tour will depart from Wrangell and cross the 17 mile wide Stikine River Delta where your Captain will then maneuver the river via back-sloughs and waterways in attempt to increase wildlife viewing opportunities. Learn Tlingit legends, along with history of the area, and facts about the flora & fauna from your Alaska Waters guides. Explore approximately 70 miles of this untouched, pristine wilderness area through a spectacularly stunning mountainous region covered with the lush rain forest and large waterfalls on the way to Shakes Glacier. Note that Shakes Lake is occasionally filled with icebergs that restrict access to the face of the glacier. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, wildlife will be spotted such as: Black and Brown Bears, Moose, Black Tailed Deer, Steller Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and Bald Eagles. Many tributaries of the Stikine River are home to spawning salmon gathered in large schools (July and August). Guests will have at least one opportunity to stand on dry land and stretch their legs during this tour.

    Anchorage Winter Twilight Photo Tour

    Anchored down in Anchorage for the summer? Perfect time to capture a few shots of the Midnight Sun! Then, pay a visit to Point Woronzof, known as a gathering spot for local moose. With a little luck, you'll be hanging a picture of antlers on your wall, but either way you'll have the opportunity to photograph a beautiful perspective of Cook Inlet backed by the Alaskan Range. Afterwards, a pit stop at Lake Hood Floatplane Base will give you the chance to snap some shots of the summer air traffic. Follow with a voyage through Potter Marsh. Formed 100 years ago, totally by accident, this whoopsie wetland now serves as a home for migrating birds. Continue your trip with a drive along Seward Highway, and then take quick hike to McHugh Creek. Master shutter techniques as you photograph the river's flow into Turnagain Arm, with a better-than-bad chance at spotting beluga whales swimming below. Finish your picturesque journey high up in the Glen Alps of the Chugach mountains for panoramic shots of Anchorage and Cook Inlet, just in time for sunset.
