    Austin Music Bike Tour

With more than 250 live music venues thousand of acts to fill them, as well as some of the biggest, most popular music festivals in the country, Austin handily earns its title as the live music capital of the world. But how did it get there? Join us on a tour exploring the places that helped Austin make its name, take in a local show and learn how the city evolved from the sleepy college town and capital of Texas to the juggernaut of live music it is today! On this tour, we will visit the old east side 11th street neighborhood, home of one of the last surviving Juke Joints in America. Heading west and turning south, we will see the Red River cultural district, home to Austin's counter-culture music scene for decades and birthplace of the SXSW music festival. As we venture southward from there, we shift our attention to Willie Nelson, Kenneth Threadgill, and all the other ne'erdowells who sought the path less-traveled in the hills of central Texas. This tour concludes with a free show at the famous Continental Club, which has been serving up the finest musical talent Austin has to offer since 1955, or at C Boy's Heart and Soul for an Austin tradition, Chicken S#!t Bingo, and some great music, depending on the day.
