    Austin Icons Bicycle Tour

You'll have the best seat in the house to experience Austin from a perspective that you just can't get any other way. Your informative local guide will not only teach you about the historic icons of the city, but also show you the hidden gems and stories that Austin has to offer. You'll end your tour back at the shop where we'll be glad to spend some time helping you decide what to do next. This guided bike tour will take you through the quiet side streets of downtown Austin. You will visit the historic Treaty Oak, stopping to talk about it's long storied history and it's connection to the formation of Texas. On the way to the University, you'll stop at one of the last remaining moon towers, that lit up the night in the late 1800's and that was made famous in Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused. Upon arrival on campus, you will visit the Tower made famous by the Charles Whitman mass shooting before heading to see the Santa Rita oil well and talk about how oil played a roll in the university's history. The tour will then head to Sholtz's beer garden where you will learn about the local beer and music industry. Lastly, you will coast through the State Capital grounds, stopping to talk about Texas' inception and Austin's role in it.
