Conclusion: The Met Does Facebook Better!
Although the MoMA Facebook page has almost twice as many likes as the Met’s, the last five posts from the Met have generated twice the number of likes, almost double the comments, and more shares. If we break it down, the Met is averaging 1,493 likes and 321 shares per post while the MoMA averages 742 likes and 230 shares. Both museums post frequently; the last five posts were within a two day period.

Conclusion: The MoMA Takes the Twitter Cake!
The MoMA not only has more than twice the followers, but they can generate more buzz in less tweets than the Met. The MoMA averages 84 retweets and 31 favorites per tweet, while the Met sits at 20 retweets and 7 favorites per tweet. Even if we multiplied the Met’s averages by 2.3 to account for their smaller twitter following, they would still come up short with 46 retweets and 16 favorites per tweet. Although the Met tweets more often, the MoMA gets a bigger bang for their twitter buck.
