The nonprofit USA Dance, Inc., reports a 35% spike in the number of people taking lessons and attending ballroom events over the past 10 years. In fact, people of all ages have come to claim (and reclaim) the dance floor! It’s no wonder, as the mental and physical benefits of ballroom dance are hard to ignore (despite the loud music).
Take a look:
*A recent study at the Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY demonstrated that dancing 4 times a week reduced the risk of dementia in participants by 76%. This brain disorder, which includes Alzheimer’s disease, affects 6 to 7 million Americans over the age of 60.
