It’s amazing how a good fencer knows exactly how to disarm an opponent. This program is a great place to start for anyone ready to give fencing a try! You’ll learn the tips and skills to handle a foil (the sword) with cunning style, speedy precision, and effective footwork techniques. Expect to see improved hand-eye coordination, enhanced speed, a greater sense of timing, and a better understanding of tactics from this training. There will also be time to dive into the rich history surrounding fencing and the variety of strategies and salutations that go into it. By the end of class you'll understand, first hand, why fencing is called “physical chess” by some!
Note: The first 30 minutes of your lesson will be a one-on-one introduction to the sport of fencing from a highly trained and experienced instructor. This will help get you up to speed and ready to go for a one-hour lesson with a class of beginner-to-intermediate level fencers looking to continually improve their skills.
