    Modern Calligraphy: Intro to Pointed Pen (2 people)

    Join us for a 2 hour small group workshop with a maximum of 15 students. No previous experience is required & no need to bring anything! All class materials & generous take-home kit of supplies (pen, nibs, multiple inks & more) are included with your registration. During this interactive small group class, you will learn the fundamentals of the meditative art of pointed pen calligraphy from Liz Roessler of Lettering By Liz, a calligrapher with over 30 years of professional experience. The easy-to-understand instruction is focused on everything you need to get started & enjoy calligraphy: how to properly hold & use a dip pen with acrylic ink, setting up your workspace, healthy ergonomics, patient & personal instruction & focused, specific goals for your practice & project work following class. 5 unique lettering styles are demonstrated & included in the take-home materials: 3 script/cursive styles & 2 print/block styles We will review all the best pro tips & tools & unique ways to use your new calligraphy skills, inspiring demonstrations, customized take-aways and Q&A throughout. Following each class, students receive an informative email packed with a bevy of resources & ongoing mentoring for all alumni is available & strongly encouraged. Intersted students may choose to continue their learning experience in intermediate-level classes which are available year-round or in private, 1:1 lessons.
