The Japanese word Aikido is written in three characters which roughly translate as, "The Way of Harmony with the Universe."Aikido is more than a science of tactics and self-defense; it is a discipline that will show you the way to perfecting the spirit. During the class, you will learn the basic movements and positions of this martial art, some of which are small and serve to immobilize an aggressor with only the sleight of hand, and some of which are grand and can spectacularly send your opponent flying through the air. As you continue your training, you will notice a sharp improvement in your stamina, flexibility, and muscle tone as well as your overall confidence. Try Aikido and know that you can protect yourself in any type of difficult situation!
