As soon as you board the Privateer, the newest and the most comfortable high-speed whale watching vessel in Gloucester, you will be immersed in the sights and sounds of the working waterfront, including fishing boats that have just returned from sea unloading fish, lobstermen baiting and setting their traps, and perhaps even some indigenous wildlife such as Harbor seals, Gray seals, Double-crested cormorants, and of course the ubiquitous seagulls. Enjoy a short presentation from a naturalist to familiarize you with the whales and other wildlife species you are likely to encounter on the ocean. Then, embark on your tour and seek out these majestic sea creatures at Jeffreys Ledge or the Stellwagen Bank and National Marine Sanctuary. Along the way, your friendly guide will point out the historic buildings and landmarks of Gloucester and speak regarding the maritime lore surrounding this world famous seaport. At the feeding ground, your naturalist will explain the behaviors you observe the whales engaged in, all while you snap amazing photos and gain a deeper appreciation of the true beauty of these majestic creatures!
