Sail on the Schooner FAME

What to expect
  • See historic Salem from the water with this award-winning day sail
  • See as many as five lighthouses: Derby Wharf, Fort Pickering, Hospital Point, Baker's Island and Marblehead Light
  • Learn about the privateering and the War of 1812, and maybe even fire the cannon
  • Discover that there's more to Salem than witches!
There's more to Salem than just witches! Climb aboard the Schooner Fame, a traditional gaff-rigged wooden schooner, to sail the historic waters of Salem Sound, where fishermen, merchants, pirates and privateers have been making history for 400 years. During your sail, enjoy sightseeing, and take photos of points of interest like Winter Island, Fort Pickering, five different lighthouses, magnificent waterfront homes in Beverly and Marblehead, and the outlying islands of Misery, Baker's, Eagle, Children's, and the Rock. Take the tiller, help raise the sails, or just sit back and watch the world glide past you. No trip to Salem is complete until you've been out on the water!

Note: Food and beverages are not included, but are for sale on board. There is a selection of beer, wine, soft drinks, water, and assorted snacks. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks and sandwiches, but no alcohol can be brought on board due to state regulations.
