This special learning environment offers exhibits both indoor and out, with a number of hiking trails, wildflower gardens, and oak woodland to set the scene. See you on the wild side!

    Night Hike

During What's on the Menu, you'll get to watch as center staff feed the display animals, offering you the unique opportunity to learn about their specific eating habits.     Plants give us clean air all the time. Why not pay them back? Show your love during this ecological restoration event! Lend a helping hand by teaming up with Forest Preserves of Cook County to protect the native plant population. You'll work alongside trained ecologists to remove invasive plant species and have the opportunity to learn how you're helping from an expert. It's also a great chance to meet others interested in environmental protection and volunteerism, and maybe open a few new doors in the process!

Your guide will take you around to the spots that provide particularly beautiful vantage points, giving you time to set up for your photos.
