My fiancé and I had so much fun on this tour. It had a ton of information, great architecture, and a wonderful tour guide, Elizabeth! We will definitely be recommending this tour.

My husband and I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful tour. Not only did we learn a lot about Chicago, we had a blast while doing it! Elizabeth was the perfect tour guide and definitely showed us a great time. I will definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting or living in the Chicago area.

I can't believe how much new information I learned in just 3 hours about Chicago's architecture and history. Amanda is a smarty pants (but in a totally awesome and accessible way).
I did the Good Times Historic Bar Tour so it was extra fun because we drank...it was like a pub crawl for history geeks. Highly recommend for visitors and Chicagoans alike! I look forward to going on all of them.

My husband and I were visiting Chicago for a quick weekend, and were looking for something unique to add to our time there. Chicago Detours' Historic Bar Tour was an excellent addition! Amanda was very knowledgeable about the city and its jazz culture. We walked away with a new look at Chicago's oldest architecture- its aesthetic values, as well as its uses. Nothing like drinking wine and touring the windy city!

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening with guide Elizabeth and the rest of our group. Impressed with the preparation and knowledge of our guide while still making the tour fun. Be prepared to be interactive, makes the tour more enjoyable.

Our "Good Times Historic Bar Tour," led by Amanda, was an awesome time. I was visiting from California but I would be very surprised if even well-toured locals did not learn something new and quirky on this voyage around Chicago. A highlight was touring around the fancy (and bizarre) social clubs of yesteryear. And by the end you'll have a nice buzz. Who can complain about that? Good wintertime activity, as you don't spend too much time outdoors. (I was there in March, but I'm a Californian wuss.) Would definitely recommend.

chicago detours tour guides show you the hidden gems on their tours! the Good Times Historic Bar Tour was fascinating, fun and just fab! i was engaged and captivated the whole time--places i've walked by my whole life actually came to life in a way. i left the tour with a full belly and brain. just how i like to leave places/experiences! sign up and do it. i'm having my friend Aussie friend do a tour or 2 when she comes for a visit come April.

I took the Historic Bar Tour with a friend. Amanda was our tour guide. She was great! It started with a nice little ice breaker to make the group feel comfortable and at ease with each other. Most of us were locals (as I am) and I've got to say, I learned a lot about this great city I live in! Amanda encouraged questions, not only about the bars we visited, but about other Chicago-isms. She was able to answer these questions with a zeal that showed a true passion for her job and Chicago. Some tours overwhelm you with facts and some leave you confused, this tour, though, contained a perfect amount of information intertwined with good drink and food (I loved the pretzels at Lawry's)! Perfect for an out-of-towner or a Chicagoan looking to get in touch with the city a little more! I highly suggest this tour.

I was luckily enough to score tickets to the “Good Times” Bar Tour on the last warm Saturday night of the year. It was a great night out on Michigan Ave and our guide, Elizabeth, really made everyone in our small group feel comfortable and welcome. We moved through the city and covered topics including prohibition and past Chicago social events. Drinks and appetizers at different stops made it that much more relaxed and fun! I liked that tablets were available for videos and pictures into the past and the pretzels at the Lawry were to dye for! Definitely the best Chicago tour I have ever attended and I’ve lived here my hole life.

Good Times Bar Tour = A Blast!
My girlfriend and I went on the "Good Times" Bar Tour and had a first rate Saturday night on the Mag Mile! Elizabeth our guide dove into Chicago history that we, as residents, had no idea was beneath our noses. Beyond the architecture we learned about a famous goat, prohibition, jazz and even miniature puppets - enjoying drinks and appetizers along the way. It was an easy going tour that would offer anyone a new perspective on Good Times in Chicago. Highly recommended!!!
