Headlines/History Running Tour August 12, 2016Marlin and his tour guide, Michael, couldn't have been more informative, helpful, or pleasant...they have a great sense of humour too! When trying to decide which tour to participate in all questions were answered thoroughly and in a timely manner. Definitely a great way to see the city, much more personal and informative than other tours I participated in. Will do another next time to Chicago. Thanks City Running Tours!

Front Yard Running Tour September 17, 2015Blake was probably the most knowledgeable tour guide I encountered in Chicago (& I met a few) he put you at ease the moment you meet him a fun & enthusiastic individual. A very customer friendly experience from start to finish, stopping at all the things you want to see in Chicago and a few you didn't realise were there.
This isn't just for serious runners, everyone who can, should experience this one of a kind tour I can't recommend it highly enough. -

Front Yard Running Tour September 15, 2015My family spent several days in downtown Chicago and my wife and I were able to get a tour that worked for us a few days in. We really wish the timing would have worked out to do the running tour first as it was so helpful/interesting to pass back by buildings, monuments, etc. that we would have otherwise not appreciated as much. Blake Williams was our guide and he was great. He should us things we would have never have gotten to see from a bus or boat as well as tidbits about modern culture, entertainment and other great places to run. Rest assured, he fit in the major details as well that have shaped Chicago and the U.S. As for the run, it was about a 3 mile run that requires dodging a lot of folks heading to work with frequent stops. Blake was very conscious and made sure the pace fit everyone's needs and that we were safe from pedestrian and auto collisions.

Front Yard Running Tour September 3, 2015I found City Running Tours looking on the internet since I was wanting to sight see but also get a run in. The Chicago's Front Yard tour has opened the door for me to get into some more of their tour offerings. Blake Williams was my running partner and he made me feel like a partner! He was awesome, professional and fun. He put me right at ease as this was my first Chicago visit and was apprehensive about getting down into the heart of the city. But it was a piece of cake! I found an easy route to Millennium Park and was about the first one there! The tour was easy for a beginner or intermediate runner. There was great sight and scenery. I will be doing some more runs with this company!

Front Yard Running Tour September 1, 2015Blake was awesome! He led our small but mighty group on the Chicago's Front Yard Tour. Lots of stops and info along the way--what a beautiful city! The added plus...it was a Sunday morning run so we enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of the sculptures (seriously, the Bean with maybe a dozen people?) before the rest of the city woke up <3 Thinking about this tour? DO IT!

Haymarket Riot + Brewery Running Tour March 31, 2015We had a great run with Blake through Beantown to the Haymarket Brewery. He was very knowledgeable, let us set our own pace, and there was a good combination of running and stopping to look at landmarks. Even though it was very cold we had a great time! Beer at the end makes it even more fun.

Headlines/History Running Tour February 27, 2015My 14 year old son and I took the "Ripped from the Headlines" tour with Blake on a cold Saturday morning. It was our first day in the city and gave us a nice overview for the rest of the trip. I chose the Headline tour because it fit the schedule and I thought it would be more appealing for the 14 year old...but really enjoyed the architectural and non-fatal historical info even more. Wish we could have taken a second run.

Headlines/History Running Tour January 12, 2015My first time in Chicago. I met Aaron and we set out for 8 miles. On our path Aaron pointed out buildings and landmarks which at the time meant nothing to me. But when I went out on the following days and stumbled upon some of the places Aaron had previously pointed was key. How nice to now have a some background where otherwise I would have just walked on by. Moving forward any traveling I do will involve City Running Tours. Best thing I could have done. I was in Chicago for the Bowie IS exhibit. But it seems my run with Aaron was the highlight of my trip. I haven't stopped talking about Aaron. Thank you Aaron and Blake.

Streeterville Running Tour January 10, 2015Ran with Blake on New Years Eve day. It was a blustery day in the teens for temps, but Blake provided a warm experience for us as we navigated the Mag Mile and points of interest along the storied Streeterville neighborhood. Would book this company again for any of the other special tours.

Headlines/History Running Tour September 23, 2014Running tour of Chicago was terrific. The run was great and Makenzie was a fantastic guide. Everything from booking to confirmation was perfectly handled by Blake (the manager) and was executed flawlessly. I would definitely recommend and I plan to do another Chicago Running Tour in the future.

Streeterville Running Tour September 14, 2014I registered online for the Friday "The Burnham Plan" 7:15 a.m. tour. I got to the site of Fort Dearborn, and Blake said that I was the only one registered. We went on an interesting tour of Streeterville, Navy Pier, and the Chicago River, stopping at sights, where Blake would provide lots of valuable information about the site and people involved. I'd never heard of the Chicago Spire, but it's a great story, even though right now it's a hole in the ground. Blake really knows the area and is able to answer any questions I had. This is a great way to see the area, even on a rainy Friday. I enjoyed getting out on an early-morning tour, and I really appreciate Blake running the tour with only one person. Somewhere, there's an accountant shaking his or her head. This runner thanks you.

Headlines/History Running Tour September 4, 2014Had a great run with Blake, and not hard to do (I'm not a runner at all!). Saw some arcitectual stuff and navy pier. Blake isn't from Chicago, but he knows a lot of fun stuff. Good guy and we had a great time - will be doing this again in another big city!! Go for is

Headlines/History Running Tour August 22, 2014Our guide Brian was punctual, informative, and mapped a wonderful run so we could see some sights that runners enjoy (not necessarily all the tourist type spots). He had great stories and helped us navigate through a busy park during the air and water show. I have used this group in NYC as well, and of all the running tour groups out there, the personal attention and quality running guides this group uses are truly the best. Choose no other running tour- you can't beat this, no matter what city you are in!
