Chicago Segway Tour - 2 Hr October 19, 2016Matt gave a great tour with lots of insights and anecdotes. He told us his other job is a standup comic, and it showed. Great fun, great route. I believe we went 7 miles in 2 hours with lots of photo stops.

Chicago Evening Segway Tour October 2, 2016Really enjoyed the Segway tour. I had never ridden one and didn't know what to expect. They did a great job instructing us and we were good to go in no time. My wife and I did an evening tour which was great as we got to see the city transition from daylight to darkness. We especially liked the fountain at night. I highly recommend. Definitely worth the money. Some things to be aware of: 1. It's a little harder on your feet and arches than you'd expect. Make sure you wear really comfortable closed toe shoes. 2. They require a deposit of $500 on your credit card. No big deal unless you get into an accident but you need to have the space available on your credit card. They didn't mention this until after the tickets had been purchased. 3. You may want to bring a light jacket in case it gets chilly. 4. They sell water at the Segway shop really cheap (I think it was a buck or two) so get some for the ride. I really recommend this activity! Staff was very friendly and professional and these were really fun to ride!

Chicago Evening Segway Tour October 1, 2016My husband surprised with this tour. I was a bit hesitant and afraid to try the evening tour in Chicago IL. Boy was I surprised! I fell in love with the Segway!!! It was so much fun now I want to put one on my ""wish list""!
Our guide was also great! It was a beautiful time of day to go on this tour (6pm) as it was just starting to get dark and the lights of the city were starting to come on. We rode by the fountain and it was spectacular!
What fun! Would DEFINITELY recommend this tour. -

Chicago Segway Tour - 3 Hr September 23, 2016What a phenomenal experience. Not only was it fun learning how to ride a Segway, our tour guide, Matt, had a wealth of fun and interesting information about Chicago. I would highly recommend City Segway and know that learning to ride a Segway is a piece of cake and a fantastic way to get around and see the Windy City !!!

Chicago Segway Tour - 3 Hr September 4, 2016Just did the 3 hour tour today with Tammy as our guide. Tammy was very enthusiastic and very informative and absolutely loves Chicago! (You will need to do the tour to find out the "real " story behind the nickname "The Windy City" ) The Segway is just a great way to get around and beats all the walking and spares your feet! ;-) This is our second tour with this company ( we did New Orleans last year) and have been impressed with our guides each time! Highly recommend this tour!

Chicago Segway Tour - 2 Hr September 3, 2016My husband bought a Groupon for this tour and it was a good deal. We went on the 10 am 2 hour tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a nervous wreck about riding on a Segway but the staff has you watch a brief safety video and then gives you a demonstration across the street on the Segway and you won't go anywhere until everyone is fully comfortable on it. I picked it up very quickly and much faster than I thought I would and we were good to go. We travelled around the park and went to the Buckingham fountain and took some great pics. Our guide was great and very patient with us and helped to take pictures of us with our camera. We also headed over to the aquarium, museum and the soldier field. We got great pictures and I conquered many of my fears as we had to go up inclines and down as well as navigate some very thin sidewalks and work around lots of pedestrians. The Segways are pretty intuitive once you get used to it but it's hard on your feet because you are using muscles in them that you don't normally use. I had to get off every once in a while just to stretch my feet and toes. Our guide was great about that and made sure I was okay and would check in with me often. City Segway is great and I highly recommend it as a new adventure and a great way to see some of Chicago's beautiful sites and get some awesome city skyline pictures.

Chicago Segway Tour - 3 Hr August 12, 2016Our family of four, with 2 teenage girls, all really enjoyed the 3 hour Segway tour! The Segways are easy to maneuver and the staff did a great job with the instruction. Recommend doing the early tour (10 am) as it got pretty warm by the end. It was a fun experience and a great way to cover a lot of ground without being exhausted! Our guide, Clark, was fun and stopped often to give interesting bits of information about the various sites. We did the Lake/Museum campus tour. The 3 hours flew by! Look for a promo code for 10%off (tenoffretail- worked for me)

Chicago Segway Tour - 3 Hr July 21, 2016It was our first time to try the Segway. It wasn't hard at all as it seems when you haven't tried it. Once you have, you would wanna go on it again ! Our tour went through Grant Park, Millenium Park, Soldier Field, the Planetarium and Aquarium. It was a great way to tour the city without having to walk for hours ! Our 3 hour tour saw most of the sights around Millenium Park and lakeside.

Chicago Evening Segway Tour June 28, 2016My fiancé and I did this the last day that we were in Chicago. While we enjoyed everything that we did there, this was the most fun and, also, informative tour that we did. While my fiancé and I are not young (60) and quite active, and the Segway is not difficult to master, I'm not sure it's generally for 55+.
Jake was our trainer and tour guide, was funny, very careful, and just a good person... Thank you, Jake! We will do this again when we return to Chicago! -

Chicago Segway Tour - 2 Hr June 10, 2016My 12 year old niece and I went on the 2 Hour Tour on June 8 from 11am-1pm. This was a great time to go because the areas that we were in were not overpopulated. I realize that this could change as summer goes on, but when we went it was a great time to go. The guys have you watch a short instructional video and then the group goes across the street with the Segways and the guide gives instructions. He speaks to the whole group, and then does a one-on-one with each person. He instructs you on that personal level until you feel confident, so you have as much time as necessary. Then you get to practice by going up and down the sidewalk for a bit. Once everyone feels comfortable the group starts their tour. Jake was our guide and he was great. As I said, he gives you all the time you need to feel comfortable and then once you start he keeps an eye on everyone as to how they are doing. He also tells you about the city when you make stops, so that part is very interesting. Jake also offered to take pictures for us a couple of times with the great scenery in the background. My niece is 12, so she enjoyed it a great deal, as did I and the others. The people in our group were a variety of ages, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I went on a tour a couple of years ago with another company. City Segway Tours was so much better because I felt like the guys were more personable, and they gave you more time for each person to feel comfortable on their Segway than the other company did. One of the best things that made this tour company better was the location. When I went before we went on very narrow sidewalks in areas where there were a lot of people. With City Segway Tours you are on wide walkways that give you more space and help you feel more confident, thereby enjoying yourself even more! I would highly recommend going on a tour and this is the company that you want you to use. It's great fun!

Chicago Segway Tour - 3 Hr May 30, 2016The family had a great time touring around the parks of Chicago on the Segways. The staff (Greta) was tremendous. Segways are a ton of fun. They allow kids over the age of 12 to ride them which is tremendous. My 14 year old had a super time and handled the Segway the best out of the group! I suggest the 3 hour tour to get the most out of the experience.

Chicago Segway Tour - 2 Hr November 23, 2015This was my second segway tour (the first one was in DC) -- and I am originally from Chicago. But seeing DC on segway was so fun (both in terms of how much ground you could cover in 2 1/2 hours and the group/guide), that my friend and I decided to make a weekend of it when we were both stopped over in Chi-town. There are a number of different segway tour providers and my guess is that you probably will get a similar experience with the various operators. The guide was familiar with the city and good in keeping the group together, which was tricky given the Chicago marathon was that weekend and so the day of the tour (Saturday), there was a lot of pre-marathon traffic, construction, and areas that were cordoned off in preparation.
I think we benefited though -- because instead of going from the top of the Magnificent Mile to Soldier Stadium along the Lake, we went from the Art Institute to Miggs Field/Northerly Island, which was new for me (recently opened) and covered a good amount of ground. We chose the 4 hour trip -- which includes about an 1 hour of preparation (video, learning to get used to the segway, etc.) -- and the tour. Make sure to wear comfortable, closed toe shoes, and keep in mind that you are standing for the 3/3 1/2 hours so if you have back issues, the length of the tour is something to be considered.
The guide himself was ok -- being a Chicago native, there wasn't too much new information transferred -- but it was a great way to spend a beautiful, October Saturday afternoon. -

Chicago Segway Tour - 2 Hr October 24, 2015Do it!
Fun! Exciting! Educational! Easy!
Having taken several tours in several cities, I recommend a 3 hour tour for any one you take for several reasons: 1) more fun time 2) more learning time to get comfortable for 1st timers, 3) more stop-time for stretching and talks. This last point makes the 3 hour tour actually easier on your legs and back than the shorter 2 hour tour, which covers about the same square mileage in a shorter amount of time at the expense of stopping. That can be harder on the legs and back.
You can read all about the course on the website, so no commentary here. Chris, our guide was a nice young man, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, subtly funny and thoughtful. The latter being laudable. I say ""thoughtful"" because a young woman on our tour found out, shortly after we began, that she'd lost her wallet (and phone.) He started checking and making calls, and keeping her updated. When we got to the stop near a Soldier Field by the ""Famous Chicago Hot Dog"" stand, he got himself a hot dog - and then quietly bought her one. (We hope she eventually got her wallet!)
A Segway tour is a great way to cover large distances and see much more than you'd ever see on foot in the same time, and give you ideas on what you'd like to come back to and spend more time. Anyone who can ride a bike can become very comfortable using a Segway in about 15 minutes.
They have a 100% refund policy (if cancelation for any reason is more than 24 hours prior to the reservation; within 24 hours 0%. Fair enough.) So this gives you time to check the weather forecast and make adjustments as necessary.
Chicago Segway is a very friendly tour operator and from my several experiences with Segway operators in different cities, they are all you should expect in a Segway tour and I recommend them. -

Chicago Evening Segway Tour July 29, 2015Despite looking like a cross between a unicycle and an electric golf-trolley, these machines are really easy to ride after just a few minutes practice. Jake made sure we were all comfortable before setting us all loose. Once up to speed, what a ride :-) .. so much fun and even us oldies felt really cool zipping through the parkways and around Soldier Field. We had booked the evening tour coinciding with the Navy Pier firework display (a treat for our wedding anniversary) and this rounded off both a romantic, and informative (thanks Jake for just the right amount of commentary) evening. BIG thumbs-up

Chicago Evening Segway Tour June 19, 2015I have lived in Chicago all my life, love our city boasting the most beautiful skyline to grace our Lake Michigan shores! The Segway tour was the best time ever to enjoy and appreciate all we have. We chose a Sunday evening tour. Our tour guide, Jonathon Elby was just fabulous ensuring our training, safety, making sure we all were having a great time while offering so much educational history about our great city...the views were stunning along our route. We chose the City Lake Shore Tour and the tour company also offers a River Walk tour and Lincoln Park tour as well....we will definitely be doing this again and again and again!!! Thanks again Jonathon for such a memorable experience!

Chicago Evening Segway Tour June 16, 2015Highly recommend this great tour - fun and informational. Chris L. was really knowledgeable, was a great instructor for using the Segway and helped along the way. He was super nice and accommodating, really took an interest in his tour participants and seemed to genuinely care that we enjoy the experience..
The Segways were a lot of fun and very easy to learn to ride. I chose City Segway because they are the original Segway tour company and have maintained a great reputation. They limit their group sizes more than the other companies and that is required by city Statute. If you are a little afraid of navigating through the city sidewalk traffic esp. On a weekend, try the evening tour around grant park and museum campus. Very little foot traffic, smooth walkways, open areas and great sites to see. Unforgettable tour - thank you Chris L. And City Segway. -
