    Plants give us clean air all the time. Why not pay them back? Show your love during this ecological restoration event! Lend a helping hand by teaming up with Forest Preserves of Cook County to protect the native plant population. You'll work alongside trained ecologists to remove invasive plant species and have the opportunity to learn from an expert how you're helping.. It's also a great chance to meet others interested in environmental protection and volunteerism, and maybe open a few new doors in the process!

During this event, you'll watch as the Trailside staff feeds their outdoor animals This is a great chance to see some of Illinois's native wildlife up close and learn about their eating habits. Stop by and find yourself immersed in a tranquil nature preserve built around a Victorian mansion at Trailside. This special learning environment offers exhibits both indoor and out, with a number of hiking trails, wildflower gardens, and oak woodland to set the scene. See you on the wild side!
