Aikido

What to expect
  • Learn the basic foundation of Aikido
  • Practice decisive techniques like throws, joint locks, strikes, and immobilizations
  • Gain insight on defensive moves against weapons
  • No experience necessary
The intriguing part about Aikido is that its philosophy is to avoid harming others whenever possible. Its practice focuses on decisive techniques including throws, immobilizations, strikes, and joint locks, all practiced within a context in which weapons (such as knives, swords, and staffs) are assumed to be present. You'll learn in this introductory class the powerful and effective movements of Aikido by learning to redirect your attacker’s force and momentum until a situation is stabilized. With its emphasis on conflict resolution and preventing harm, Aikido is more than a physical lesson -- it’s a spiritual and life lesson as well.

Note: This is a free trial class for first time students only.
