Kathy X.Tony n' Tina's Wedding Show February 26, 2015
I recently received complimentary tickets to Tony n' Tina's Wedding, the longest running interactive Off-Broadway experience in New York City. While being seated for the wedding ceremony, I spoke with Johnny (Tony's brother), who remembered me as the smart girl in high school that he used to cheat off of, so we had a good laugh about that. We are also introduced to the loud-mouthed Italian families taking part in the wedding, including the crazy brothers and cousins, aunts and the hilarious grandmother.
The ceremony was lovely, starting off with Sister Albert Maria singing a religious song and getting the whole audience to join her. One of Tina's bridesmaids and her maid of honor read from the Bible (the well known love passage from 1st Corinthians 13:4-8 and a scripture about marriage). There was also the ceremonial lighting of candles and vows being exchanged between Tony and Tina.
After the ceremony, we all headed to Guy's American Kitchen for the reception. My friend and I sat at the Sinatra table.
Dinner was provided... We had bread, which was just your run of the mill soft bread. Then came large vegetarian dumplings with soy sauce, served on a bed of purple lettuce and vinaigrette. The dumplings were pretty tasty, but there was only enough for one each. I would've liked to have another one. A bit later, we went to the buffet for our entree, which was salad, pasta with vegetables and tomato sauce. I enjoyed the vegetables the most- They were fresh and flavorful but the rest of the meal was mediocre.
Then there was cake... Even though it was a small piece, I really enjoyed it. It was light, fluffy, not too sweet and tasted delicious!
Also at the reception, we met Danny Dulce the wedding singer. Danny really knew which songs to perform and my friend & I had a great time dancing to the tunes. We got to see a extravagant Champagne Walk and then the drama continued as the bride, groom and all parties got drunker as the night wore on... Tony & others from the wedding party taking their shirts off, ex lovers getting back together, Conga line, the bouquet/garter toss and more! There was also a fight between Tina and her pregnant maid of honor (as well as best friend) and later, between Tony and his brother, Johnny. Tony later told me not to encourage his little brother!
I had such a wonderful time at Tony n' Tina's Wedding and found it to be an original, creative and incredibly entertaining immersion experience -- You really feel like you are a part of the wedding!

went to the show last night. it was so much fun. the cast is so authentic and friendly and funny that you are drawn into this comedy like a real family member! it was very upbeat and you are not really sure who is in the cast and who is not. so, for the first hour of the reception i was sort of shy with the people at our table, thought they were actors, but they weren't, they were just dressed up! the food was good( i will be going back to guy fieri's restaurant again), the atmosphere was just a blast. i would not bring a kid under 14, it is a little raunchy, but my 17 year loved it! also we all walked for 3 blocks on a saturday night through times square following an italian flag, to get from the ceremony to the reception--what an event!!

Don't read reviews prior to 2014. Those are not talking about the one playing now off-Broadway. This one is fantastic. The cast is amazingly talented and the script and improv are top notch. If you are at all outgoing you will love this. I really enjoyed the walk from the ceremony at Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School, down Schubert Alley to the reception at Guy's American Kitchen. Fun with groups.

Everyone loves a wedding! Growing up in a tiny religious town I have experienced my fair share of weddings and I was a bridesmaid in most of them. Tony and Tina's wedding however is the best one I have attended yet, real or fake!
I always enjoy interactive theater, its like being in the front row for all the action. Every guest gets to participates in the wedding in some way and the more you are up and about mingling the more you will get to see and do throughout the show. If you are a shy wall flower you might not get much out of the show so drink a little more and get out there and let loose!
I was lucky enough to become friends with a Nun named Teri. She is basically my favorite person on the planet earth right now. She is a hilarious and super plus adorable. She introduced herself to me at the beginning of the show and she checked up on me throughout the night!
Social Media is encouraged throughout the show and makes the night even more fun. Pictures taken and posted on social media are projected onto the wall by the main dance floor (yes, there is a dance floor and yes, you will be in a conga line at some point.) The show even offers free Wi-Fi for the night making internet access quick and easy.
I loved hanging out at Tony and Tina's wedding! If you love love and love crazy Italian-American Families with lots of hilarious drama check this show out!
