    Linoleum Block Printing

Explore a brand new artform in this printmaking class, where you’ll learn the basics of linoleum block printing! "Lino-cut" is a technique in which a design is cut into the surface of a sheet of linoleum with a V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the un-carved areas representing a reversal of the parts to show printed. After sketching your design onto the linoleum, whether using stencils or simply by freehand, you will then pull the cut areas from the backing and ink your linoleum sheet with a roller to impress your design onto paper or fabric. Take home a beautifully printed project along with your hand cut linoleum block to recreate your print on any other type of material you can imagine!
