What’s your first impression when you hear the words, “Thai Food?” Is it the fiery reputation? Is it the distinctive dishes that represent Southeast Asia? This hands-on class will highlight the many street foods of Thailand, as you learn how to prepare a delicious spread of popular Thai dishes. This flavorful and healthy menu will equip you with everything you need to make a few classic dishes, including chicken satay, miang kham salad, and chiang mai sliders. You will also discuss stocking a Thai pantry, as well as Thai culture and cuisine. Never want to order takeout again because you’ll have a newfound appreciation for this unique and delectable cuisine.

Joelen Tan is a Chicago area private caterer and former restaurant chef. She has been recognized in both local and national media and has worked with celebrity chefs including Rick Bayless, Spike Mendelsohn, and Marcela Valladolid. Since 2007, she has been teaching culinary classes, hosting culinary events in Chicagoland and does recipe development work with major food brands.
