Meet your guide in Capitol Hill, a densely populated residential neighborhood near Downtown Seattle that's one of the city’s most prominent culinary, nightlife and entertainment districts and counterculture communities. On your easy 2-hour walking tour, you'll discover the plethora of great restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs, theaters and more than 60 coffee houses lining the streets. Your first stop is Cupcake Royale, a beautiful little café and bakery in the heart of the Pike/Pine Corridor – a great place to watch the Capitol Hill crowd go by. Treat your taste buds to a delightful mini-cupcake with homemade ice cream. Next, walk a block north to Eltana Wood-Fired Bagel Café. This unique bagel shop hand-rolls bagels and flatbreads and cooks them in a wood-fire oven. Sink your teeth into one of these Montreal-style wood-fired bagels slathered with a homemade spread. Continue a block south to Manhattan, a casual, modern steakhouse with a chic yet comfortable interior whose walls are adorned with vintage urban photography. Take a seat while the chef prepares you a mouthwatering pork belly mac ‘n’ cheese bowl with fried okra and popcorn shrimp, and wash it down with a delicious handcrafted cocktail made with Honey Jack Daniels, ginger beer and lemon. Your next stop is Marination Station, a famous food truck specializing in Kawaiian-Korean cuisine that was featured on "Good Morning America." The truck has several mobile spots throughout Seattle, but this is its only permanent location. Enjoy some spicy pork tacos with a Korean twist! Next, walk to Grim’s restaurant and lounge and sit with your fellow travelers at one of the long, wooden cafeteria-style tables. You'll be served a tomato, basil, prosciutto and gruyere grilled-cheese sandwich accompanied by a cup of tomato soup served in a mason jar. Your last stop is Old School Frozen Custard, where you’ll treat your sweet tooth to a scoop of velvety smooth frozen custard. Choose traditional vanilla bean or chocolate custard or try the flavor of the day. All of these tastings add up to a very satisfying meal. During your walk, your guide will keep you entertained with stories and facts about the history of Capitol Hill. Ask any questions you like! Your food tour ends back at the original departure point.
