Rather than learning just one dance, you’ll be introduced to the many steps and styles of an eclectic tradition. Mexican folkloric dance includes styles that predate European influences, but doesn’t exclude them. As such, it incorporates a synthesis of cultural traditions, including indigenous, Spanish, and African influences. It has continued to evolve and grow in modern times, with many impacts felt by pop culture. During this class, you’ll not only be getting practice and an education in these multicultural forms, but a great aerobic workout too, which will help you develop balance, control, and stamina. Once you’re done, you’ll able to treat yourself to a taco with no hard feelings.
