That just happens to be the modus operandi at Soulful Samba Tuesdays In this hybrid fitness and dance class, you'll learn basic and intermediate samba techniques, while dancing in an uplifting studio atmosphere where the fun is bolstered by live beats. That makes it a great way to stay in shape, while developing performance technique and confidence at the same time. Dancing is a great way to shred calories without actually realizing how hard you're working, making this a fitness routine you can look forward to. Try running on a treadmill in time to a live drum. You'll learn different variations of samba, like reggae, funk, and various Latin and Caribbean Carnaval dances. Through these dances, you'll pick up movement and technique, build your physical stamina and body control, and improve your flexibility. Live drummers will be there to accompany you, getting your energy pumping and giving the whole class an authentic, celebratory flair. You'll get comfortable dancing in a group, and even taking your own solos. Community building is at the heart of this class, and after you've worked up a sweat, you're welcome to come hang out and mingle at a cool bar/restaurant downtown.

    Aerial Conditioning

    Students work in stations, targeting specific muscle groups used to strengthen their aerial bodies. Inversions, pull ups, beats, hip keys, skin the cats, meathook, split, and backbends exercises are explored through circuits, and are designed to challenge one’s strength and flexibility. Aerial Conditioning is the “Flames” segment of the Aireal Alchemy project. By taking this class, you will be working towards straight arm inversions, straight leg hip keys, and building your inverted climb vocabulary.

    Intermediate Silks

    The class is based off the Clouds part of the Aireal Alchemy project, building on the base movements learnt in the Roots section by introducing intermediate base poses, their variations, and adds initial layering techniques. Students in this class will have a vast understanding of the “hitch” theory of aireal, and experience deep explorations of hip, knee, foot, and waist hitches.
