    You’ve always been fascinated with sword fighting and stick fighting, but you have never taken the time to attend a real class. Stop watching your favorite action movie and become a sword fighting hero with this introductory sword class! Here, you'll learn the fundamentals of Siljun Dobup, a form of iaido which literally translates as “real sword training.” Your practice will focus on the drawing and sheathing of the blade as well as executing the perfect cut. You will begin training with a wooden practice sword and will not be practicing against live opponents in this class. Unlike many forms of iaido, which are practiced from a kneeling position, Siljun Dobup primarily begins from a neutral standing position, making it easy to practice for practitioners of all ages.     Your child has always been fascinated with sword fighting and stick fighting. It's time you introduce your son or daughter to this amazing martial art! Here, your child will learn the fundamentals of Kendo, a martial art that literally means “The Way of the Sword.” He or she will practice using a bamboo sword for contact work and an oak wooden sword for practice forms. For sparring sessions, your little fighter will wear protective gear for the head, body, groin, and hands. In this class there will be great emphasis on developing a strong spirit, healthy body, and sharp mind. Kendo has no gender barriers or physical limitations and may be practiced by people of any age and ability. Let your child drop the action figures and become an action hero!
