Zumba March 21, 2017My 5 stars are based on 1) the people (staff, teachers and students), 2) the space and amenities, and 3) the schedule of classes.
1) People: the staff are warm and welcoming and make the most alienated feeling person feel like family. Teachers are authentic, long-time practitioners of their art. They are encouraging, dedicated, passionate and very professional. Students and visitors are friendly, supportive and inclusive.
2) Place: a spacious, light filled studio with exposed beams, AC, good audio system and sprung wood floors for comfort and minimizing joint stress. Topping off the experience are two spacious bathrooms big enough for changing in and a water bottle fountain for refilling your favorite water bottle.
3) Classes: great for kids and adults, offering dance, fitness and martial arts including karate, capoeira, samba, carnival, cardio, African dance, drumming, and more. -

Beginner's Capoeira December 23, 2016Brasil Brasil Cultural Center is a gem for the community. The energy of this center is so positive, everyone feels like family. It is a lovely community. The children's classes are fantastic, with thoughtful, attentive instructors. The children's capoeira classes are very well rounded, integrating movement, music, song, all rooted in Brazilian culture. I love how they offer different programming throughout the year to adapt the seasons and scheduling changes.

Beginner's Capoeira October 16, 2016Four years ago my son begged my husband and I to pay a Capoeira class for him as a Birthday present..We can't believe how this place has changed our lives especially Kevin's.Who would imagine that within four years Kevin would have experience an amazing trip to Brazil with Mestre Amen Santo and his Beautiful wife Nayla.I don't think I need any more words to describe what an amazing place this is,after all even I get to be part of that great energy as I experience taking a Capoeira class which never in life had taken before..To all the mothers out there give your self the experience of taking one of the many classes that Brazil Brazil cultural center offers,we have some amazing instructors be part of our great community..

Beginner's Capoeira December 21, 2015Brasil Brasil Cultural Center is a great place for Capoeira training and community. Mestre Amen has a very pleasant demeanor and a holistic outlook on Capoeira. I enjoy physical training with him and his students and Capoeira music classes as well. The studio provides a community feel and it is a friendly and non-judgemental space for a variety of activities. I recommend checking it out.

Zumba August 8, 2015I got here early for Zumba and got to catch some of the capoeira crowd and that class looked really neat. The whole class that was there seemed talented.
Some things about finding this place, they were doing some construction on Washington so it was actually a little bit difficult for me to find this place. I parked a ways down and walked to find it but that might not be an issue once they open up the street all the way. They have a parking lot there you can use which was not full when I got there. You enter the lot from Louise street. They also have meters in front and free street parking in the residential streets nearby.
This was my first time here and everyone was really friendly. The Zumba instructor is really energetic and you can tell she loves what she does. Be prepared this class is interactive and you dance with and meet your fellow classmates which caught me off guard. As an introvert, it made me uncomfortable at first but by the end of class I was really glad for the experience and think it adds to the sense of community. It seems a lot of the people who go there are usuals and very enthusiastic about the class, and I can see why.
I feel like I made new friends which of course makes me want to go back.
This was very different from the Zumba classes I have taken in the past but not a bad different.
I would love to try their samba and look forward to more Zumba classes here. -

Zumba February 28, 2015BEST DANCE CLASS EVER. I've been doing Zumba here for over a year now and I love it. Gisella is upbeat, fun, and a great instructor. The music ranges from salsa to cumbia to Bollywood to....? It's a great vibe and super fun, whether you're new to dance or a dance enthusiast.

Samba February 6, 2015The BBCC holds true to it's name. Not only are the teachers professional artists, they take great pride in teaching and preserving Brasil's authentic art forms- Samba, Capoeira, Gafieira and Parkour. The manner in which the Samba, Gafieira, Zumba and funky Brasil classes are taught make each workout a party leaving you happy, uplifted, and thoroughly drenched in sweat. The feeling I'm left with after each Zumba and Samba class makes me want to go back I've never felt so happy after a workout that I can't wait for my next class! It has everything to do with the energy, passion, and encouragement the instructors bring to each and every class. I feel blessed to have found the Brasil Brasil Cultural Center!

Samba January 31, 2015I have been taking samba classes here for years and just finished Ana Laidley's Malandro (samba) two- day dance workshop. It was truly amazing! Ana is an amazing, inspiring instructor, who knows how to extract the 'performer' in everyone. I have watched others grow from self-conscious beginners to confident sambistas in her classes. Ana is truly a gift to this SoCal community - thank you, BrasilBrasil Cultural Center for providing the space and positive environment for so many to grow and evolve.
