A group of us local event planners went on this fun food tour and had a blast! Not only did we get introduced to some little hidden gems in the Funk Zone that we didn't even know about, but we also got to taste some fab food and wine and learn about some pretty cool history of Santa Barbara! Getting iPhone photo taking tips was just icing on the cake! Highly recommend this tour!

Great walking tour! There were 7 stops on this tour when we did it. The first stop was a wine tasting on steams wharf. It was nice wine with great views. 2nd stop was my other must-eat, the seafood restaurant at the end of the wharf, always good. The other stops included a beer tasting, pizza, tacos (get the lengua,so good), liquor tasting, and champagne. Great way to see Santa Barbara and the food it has to offer.

What a great way to get introduced to Santa Barbara - took the food walking tour and got great information about the upcoming area known as the funk zone

I've been living in Santa Barbara for nearly 10 years now and like to consider myself a bit of a local at this point. Yet still, sometimes it's fun to do seemingly "touristy" things. So, my friends (locals too) and I recently decided to go on the Eat This, Shoot That! food and photography tour. It was a blast!
The tour starts with a couple stops on the pier -- Santa Barbara Shellfish Co. and Deep Sea Tasting Room. We got to taste a few wines overlooking the ocean, and the ceviche at SB Shellfish Co. was delicious.
The bulk of the tour goes through The Funk Zone, Santa Barbara's new, up-and-coming hotspot, which is filled with fun shops, unique restaurants, tasting rooms, etc. It's a bit of a local's secret still, so it was fun to get off the beaten path a bit (and we even went to a couple spots that I'd never heard of before!). We went to Seven Bar and Kitchen and had chicken and waffles, Figueroa Mountain Brewery Tasting Room for some craft beers, Cutler's Artisan to sip some family-distilled spirits, and Riverbench for some wine and unreal handmade salted caramels from Koval Confections.
One of the really fun things about the Eat This, Shoot That! tour is that along the way, your tour guide teaches you how to take better photos with your DSLR, point and shoot digital camera, and smart phone -- so you're getting more than just good food and drink on this tour. We had all levels of "photographers" on our tour -- professional photographers and your everyday instagram enthusiast -- and the photography element was great for everyone.
By the end, we were totally stuffed (a little buzzed!) and had snapped a bunch of awesome photos of our food, the scenery, and each other along the way.
Bottom line, we had so much fun on this tour!!! Awesome tour guide (she was hilarious!), great stops, amazing food, wine, and spirits, and we picked up a few photography tricks too. I highly recommend it for visitors and locals alike!

I had such a great time last week with Eat This Shoot That! The mix between the guided tour of the original Santa Barbara, delicious wines, bratwurst, cheeses, chocolate, photos, and more were timed well. Tara is a great host and funny! This tour has a little something for everyone.

Cannot say enough about this tour! Food, photography, strolling Santa Barbara's beautiful waterfront... It's all there. My husband and I went with a group of about six people and really enjoyed the pace and the different locations. Tara Jones proved a joyful tour guide for us and I felt like I came away with some great tips to improve my travel pics and had a really fun time . I also liked that the tour meanders iconic Stearns Wharf as well as some up-and-coming eateries off the beaten path. Fun for locals and newcomers to Santa Barbara alike!

I had never gone on a food/drink tour before Eat This Shoot That, and it definitely didn't disappoint! As a Santa Barbara 'local' for five years now, I felt as if I had gone to most of the good spots in town... each stop on this tour was new to me and better than some of my go-to restaurants! On top of all the excellent food and beverages, you get to take in the paradise-views of Santa Barbara from Stearn's Wharf, and the artsy, cool Funk Zone with its' quirky tasting rooms and shops. It's an awesome way to spend a couple hours while learning some interesting California history, photography tips, and enjoying some pizza, ceviche, chicken and waffles, and enough alcohol to make you use the free Uber taxi ride discount the guide gives out at the end of the tour!

Take some advice from a local guy who knows and loves food...and sign up for the next Eat This, Shoot That! tour!
We went to Seven Bar and had chicken and waffles, Figueroa Mountain Brewery Tasting Room for beer, Cutler's Distillery to try some whiskey (my favorite leg of the tour), and it started out with Deep Sea for some local wines.
I felt completely liberated playing around with my camera and my iPhone camera, using Instagram to share all the goofy fun we were having, and knowing that our guide was cheering us along the whole time with helpful hints and bits of historical knowledge that even I didn't know about my city. Thanks, Tara!

Every stop was spectacular in its own way. Graham, our tour guide, was very personable. I could tell he enjoys his job. There wasn't too much walking. The food/drink ratio was perfect. I recommend this tour to anyone. Some of the stops aren't children-friendly as they consist of wine/drinks only, but all in all a great time.

I did the tour with my wife and just one other couple. 3 1/2 leisurely hours on a Sunday afternoon. Was it worth $100 each? I really don't know. But Tara was funny and personable and caring and very knowledgable about the city, and it was nice having everything taken care of in advance. Her choices of places were right on. I would suggest that some of the historical / walking parts between official stops might also go better with wine... (Maybe some chilled wine in a fashionable, concealed container?) Also, only maybe about 5% of the tour had anything to do with photography... Yet I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

This food tour was seriously the best thing! Every food and alcohol tasting was absolutely delicious and our tour guide, Tara, was so incredibly amazing. She made sure we were all enjoying ourselves and shared so much history about the awesome places and cities we were visiting. This tour is great for all kinds of people: foodies, couples, families or people who just enjoy a nice stroll in a beautiful place with some amazing food and drinks! I highly recommend you try this tour out if you're ever in the areas

If I could give more stars I would! This was by far the best spent money I have ever spent on a wine tour. It was supposed to be a rainy day and it turned out beautiful and sunny. It was just my husband and I with Tara the owner of it and I cannot say enough awesome things. This was way more than your average wine tour. I learned SO much about Santa Barbara and it's history as well as the history of wine and all about the wine we tasted! The brats and the cheese stops were such a bonus. I will definitely be doing this tour again when I go back with my girlfriends! If you are even considering it, DO IT!!!!!

I'm glad my boyfriend and I booked this tour! Not only it was our first time and wouldn't know the history and places to eat and drink, this tour gave us an idea of the city, where to go at night and more fun activities to do right after.
Sarah, our tour guide was the best! So friendly and informative, she was well aware of my allergies and accommodated that.
We tried seafood restaurants, burger, pizza, wine tasting, beer and shots! Well worth it.

The tour was awesome!!! We had the founder guiding us through the funk town area and the little history God bits of the city and the places she picked to stop at.....soooo good!!!!!! We are kinda picky and not fond of tours but this one went by quickly, had great food, variety of drinks top notch all the way around. Highly recommend this tour! We actually even learned a few trips with our camera phone. Great stuff!!!

This is the most fun you could have in Santa Barbara. We chose the Funk Zone Food Tour. A perfect amount of stops peppered with a good dose of local history and lore as you walk around. Our guide, Tara, was extremely accommodating and friendly. The food selections at each restaurant are phenomenal, and I actually learned a lot about taking great photos with my phone! I'd recommend this to anyone traveling to Santa Barbara.

This is absolutely the best way to taste, see and learn about Santa Barbara. The hospitality of Tara, the variety of foods and libations were the best way for us to enjoy a drizzly afternoon. This is a must do when visiting or hosting visitors to the area!

This tour is absolutely awesome! Whenever me and my girlfriend go anywhere we always have to go to the best food spots, and there's no better way to experience food, drinks, and Santa Barbara history than Tara's food tour. Tara is knowledgeable, fun, conversational, and passionate about what she does. All of the food selections were amazing and there's also great drinks along the way. I cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone going to SB!
