I don't even know where to begin! Our group had SO much fun here! We did the theater murder system and it was challenging and very entertaining. I can't say much about it besides that you HAVE to try it! I know I can't wait to go back and test my skills again!

We've done The Seance, The Secret Temple, and The Will. My personal favorite was The Will - it takes a minute to get rolling, but once you do, there are some really well crafted puzzles.
All the rooms were a lot of fun - I'd totally recommend them!

We planned a special birthday to celebrate with family and friends and "The Enigma Escape Room" was a great, unique way to get everyone interacting. The staff were fantastic! They were very organized, accommodating and entertaining. They were extremely helpful in figuring out how to plan a big group of people to have a wonderful time and worked with us on cost since we had a unique situation with lots of people. The small conference room was an ideal place four our guests to drink and eat (we brought food&drink) while awaiting to get into a room that other guests were trying to escape. We were first-timers, as were most of our guests, and we loved this introduction to the concept! Clever clues, challenging but doable. We look forward to returning to try their other rooms! It was that much fun! Thank you Enigma Escape Rooms! A good time had by all!

Our group of five has played dozens of escape rooms and we were wanting to try out a new "company". So we made back-to-back reservations at Enigma for Apartment 205 at 6 pm and Crime Scene at 7 pm.
Location is great, parking in the back. Staff members were very enthusiastic about their jobs. Our first room, Apartment 205, even had an actor as part of it, which is something we hadn't seen before and we thought it was a nice touch. He was very into it!
You get three hints per room, but only after the first 15 minutes. Apartment 205 started out a bit slow but picked up pace and we only needed one hint. This room ended up being a ton of fun and the puzzles were pretty difficult. It also has one of my now favorite puzzles that I've ever done. We escaped in 42 minutes!
Next up, Crime Scene. We booked this room because we had read that it was the most difficult room at this location and we like a challenge. No actor in this one, but you have to escape the room AND solve the murder/suicide, kind of like the game Clue. Who did it, with what, where & why. The set design in the room was AWESOME and there are quite a few puzzles. We moved through this room more quickly and escaped in 36 minutes minutes. When it came time to explain the whodoneit we felt like we didn't know enough about the back story, but we were able to cobble an answer together. Apparently their other room, The Will, has more of the story and if you do that room first, then Crime Scene makes more sense. Wish we would have known that! As we were discussing it after, this room had more "storyline flaws" that we didn't like as much, hence the minus one star. However, still a great room, just not our personal favorite. Maybe if we had done The Will first?
We felt like Apartment 205 was more difficult in terms of actual puzzles to solve (& the actor part was cool).
Cost is $36 per person, which is a bit more than we are used to spending. For the five of us, that's $180. However, the rooms are really well done & we thought the staff were all great, so I think we will eventually be back to do their other rooms: Secret Temple, The Will and Seance.

The best immersive experience! The room we have done is called the Secret temple, the puzzles are very smart and creative, there are some really cool gags in that room including a vr set that is overplayed thru one of the puzzles.
We were hosted by Casey and Alex and both of them really love what they do and thats how its suppose to be!
I will be BACK!

One our first escape rooms were here (around 40 now) we did the apartment was a lot of fun.... our favorite part was towards the end.. great finale with added pressure... still really want to go back and seance room...

Great production quality. The rooms were very well decorated and the environment was very realistic.
The service was also great! Everybody was super nice and helpful with preparing our group for the room.
The person who was helping guide us through the room was very attentive and kept our group informed on how much time we had left.
The rooms are a perfect level of difficulty and definitely something that wasn't too frustrating or impossible to solve. I'd definitely love to come again to try out more of their rooms.
Trish G.Apartment 205 Escape Room April 2, 2017
We had so much fun. We found the game challenging and started off slow. We've never done an escape room before. It took us a long time and a hint to get going, but once we got it, we progressed quickly. I think we were overthinking it. We finished our room with 13 minutes to spare and I really saw the strengths of our team come through. We're already planning our next escape room.
Louie S.Apartment 205 Escape Room January 25, 2017
This was one of the best escape rooms I've been to. A group of five of us went and had a great time!
The theme of the room was great, it wasn't "easy" and it wasn't beyond impossible. The staff was great, friendly, welcoming and definitely stayed in character.
I absolutely recommend this place and I'm sure I'll be back to try the other rooms!

Intense activity for our brains lol! I came here for a team building activity with 39 of my coworkers and we split to all 5 rooms and everybody just loved it, all the rooms are very well produced we went to have dinner right after and talked for hours about the experience we all had and we came to a conclusion that it was the best team building outing we could find!
Our boss said he will be sending more departments here in the future for sure.
Scott H.Apartment 205 Escape Room October 28, 2016
We've done 3 escape rooms here (Apartment 205, The Will and Crime Scene). It is obvious that they really take care in designing these rooms, as each of the different rooms were decorated to match the scenarios. In addition, several of the puzzles are much more interesting to unlock than the typical locks that you find at other escape rooms. They really do go out of their way to make new and interesting puzzles. The game masters there are also very enthusiastic and helpful. In addition, there is parking in the back of building.
Apartment 205 has an actor for some portions of the room, and the person playing that role did a great job. The Crime Scene has an additional portion at the end, as you are not only supposed to escape but you must also figure out how the crime was performed. This really added an extra layer of suspense, as we were really not so sure about how the crime was performed.
I think the only thing that we would say that was a little off is that each of the rooms could have used a bit more puzzles. This would have made the completion closer to the hour allowed, thus providing more suspense. With these escape rooms, part of the fun is the rush of flying through the puzzles to complete the room, so there is more of an adrenaline rush when you finish closer to the time allowed. Again, this is only a minor complaint.
If you are new to escape rooms, this is a great place to start as the company does a great job of setting up each room and has great game masters that help you through the immersive process. For the escape room veteran, the rooms may be a bit on the easier side, though again the puzzles and rooms are so well done that it is worth trying at least one room.
Jordan M.Apartment 205 Escape Room October 19, 2016
Yes! YES! YASSS! Probably best set of escape rooms I have done in LA recently! Did apartment 205 as well as the crime scene and both were very good experiences. I have done so many escape rooms and these two both had great elements. They both had extremely useful hints, both had very linear puzzles, and both had great themes!
I was able to escape both rooms with only 2 of us doing both. LINEAGE IS SO IMPORTANT! And both rooms followed that to a T! One step led to the next and then to the next! Ughh so good!
Cindy P.Apartment 205 Escape Room September 13, 2016
This place is great. I've done two rooms here and can't wait for more. Lots of different kinds of puzzles, very challenging. Nice job with the sets too!
Jared W.The Secret Temple Escape Room September 11, 2016
My group and I have done four rooms at Enigma thus far. They have been by far some of the best escape games that I have played! The stories, the set and puzzles have been spot on. In some cases the games involved actors which also added a different element to the game compared to a pure puzzle based game. Each room has its own story and theme (except for the Crime Scene and The Will -- they're based on the same story) and with each room they were able to pull off a different style every time.
On top of the game quality, the staff and the whole process has been flawless. Enigma knows how to run their establishment well and have it down to a science.
Looking forward to getting to play the last room and playing future rooms that they will be building!
Beatrice C.The Secret Temple Escape Room September 5, 2016
I already left a five star review for this establishment, but I cannot speak more highly of Enigma and what they do. I've done every room except the Seance room and have found them all to be top quality. My partner and I have tried dozens of places and this is still one of our absolute favorites.
This place does a great job of mixing tech with standard locks and keys. When doing the Will with some friends, there was a minor tech hiccup but they took care of it for us and it didn't hinder our ability to get out of the room. One of the last steps in that room is so innovative that we almost didn't get it.
The puzzles themselves are great because they're straightforward and don't require complex math or anything of the sort. Things are fairly linear, and some might think that makes it too easy, but I don't think so. It just means that there's a natural progression in logic that people can reasonably get to, rather than random patterns that people won't understand.
Some of the rooms have a game master with you and some don't, depending on the difficulty level. But all their hints are helpful and I find that they lead you in the right direction without getting too involved. The puzzles are challenging enough for different group sizes: I've done rooms here with groups of two, four, and six, and never felt that things were too easy.
Also, the space may look unassuming from the outside, but the production value is great. Despite being simple, everything feels authentic and has a purpose. You also get really immersed in the story so you don't just feel like you are randomly looking for a way to get out of a locked room.
Out of all the rooms I've done, my favorite is the Crime Scene. My partner and roommates did this with me and we did not realize it was the most difficult room, which is funnier because 3/6 were complete newbies to escape rooms. We managed to get out, but more than that, we had a phenomenal time. (Be sure to ask them about the "Do not touch" sign on the theater equipment, it's hilarious.) I also like that you don't win unless you answer the questions AND get out. It heavily emphasizes the story, which I think is difficult for some escape rooms to really capture.
This place is a class act. I wish they had even more rooms for me to do, but in the meantime, I'll need to gather a crew to do the Seance!
Eunice B.Apartment 205 Escape Room April 17, 2016
You will feel so immersed into the story line! The actor in this room was very believable so just play along and have fun!
Eunice B.Apartment 205 Escape Room April 17, 2016
My boyfriend and I have done about 20 escape rooms, and this shoots at the top of our list. We appreciate escape rooms who have thought out creative and unique puzzles, as well as aesthetically built rooms! We did all 4 rooms in one day since we were only in the LA area for a short period of time. All rooms were beautifully build, and the ambiance fit each theme. Below you will find a run down of the rooms, but no spoilers...hehe:)
Secret Temple: Classy beyond words, this room has a sophisticated touch but is also filled with a bunch of surprises. Listen to your game master before entering the room, because you wouldn't want to anger the society by breaking any safety rules:) Lastly, you must really think outside the box and pay close attention to your surroundings.
The Will: This room brings you back in time with a vintage touch. This game is fairly linear but the puzzles are creatively built. I liked this game a lot because of it's story line and how believable it is.
The Crime Scene: Two words: EERILY BEAUTIFUL. The theater was beautifully built, and it definitely will give you a look over your shoulder but it that made it feel exhilarating.
Apartment 205: You will feel so immersed into the story line! The actor in this room was very believable so just play along and have fun!
Overall this company exceeded all my expectations and require a wide set of skills. These escape rooms are all about creative solutions, so use your noggins!!!
Nina V.The Secret Temple Escape Room February 20, 2016
My brother chose to celebrate his birthday at Enigma escape rooms with some of his friends. It was so much fun and the staff was incredibly friendly. I have only been to one escape room before in Chicago, and the staff there was so rude! We did the sacred temple escape room, and we finished in 40 minutes! We wished it was a little bit harder! (We didn't escape from the Chicago room until 2 minutes before time was up!) I guess I shouldn't complain about that though!
Also, because it was my brother's birthday they even hid a little birthday card for him as one of the clues.. HOW CUTE IS THAT?
I would definitely come back here with some friends!
Christine L.Apartment 205 Escape Room November 8, 2015
This company is truly top notch. The owners are friendly and passionate about their business. The business is run at a top level of professionalism. The rooms are amazing. The location is good. Parking is fairly easy. I can't say enough good things about Enigma or tell enough people about them. Every time a friend asks which Escape Games they should try I tell them about Enigma. (I'm the go to person for my friends because I've played over 60 escape games.)
I played their newest room tonight...The Will. It's really cool. The game is well designed in both decor and puzzles. The technology is outstanding. It's a very unique & immersive experience.
I still think Apt 205 is my favorite just because I found it a bit more intense and exciting and it has one of my favorite puzzles in it. I like the actor aspect as well. Both the Apt & Temple have actors, the Will does not.
