This longform improv show is divided into 2 acts -- a freeform romp and a ridiculously hilarious mystery. During the first act, you'll watch these actors' antics as they play a multitude of characters in scenes inspired by audience suggestions. The act opens with monologues, and then devolves as scenes are strung together with word association, creating an uproarious show that's different every time!
After intermission, you'll eagerly return to your seat to watch as the performers, now playing only one character, create four different, completely unrelated scenes.
Once these four scenes are completed, the characters will come together to mix, mingle, and tie together every part of the act! You'll be amazed with their skill as they produce a mystery, and then resolve it, all in only 30 minutes!
You'll be literally LOL-ing in no time! But perhaps restrain your need to ROFL -- that could get dangerous.

2001 An Improv Odyssey May 7, 2017Great Great Great. This was my first experience at an Improv showing. Everything from the spontanous plots to the audience connection, made the show inevitably magnificent. Keep it up.

Beyond Stand-Up April 18, 2017My husband found this theater and we attended the 10:30pm showing. I really appreciated the intimate atmosphere. The comedians were funny, very interactive, and really just a joy to watch. The set wasn't long so I'd recommend attending earlier showing and staying. I'm sure we'll be back.

Beyond Stand-Up April 16, 2017Not your roudy iOWest in Hollywood, but just as funny. Skip the crazy of Hollywood boulevard for improv that is on par and even more intimate. Came here with my wife on a random Sunday night to see "It Squirts" the venue's Sat night improv crew. They were great and played multiple improv games directly with the audience. They didn't perform a long form improv at this show.
Really enjoyed the intimate venue and the less crazy crowds, would definitely come back! -

Rookies Improv February 26, 2017My wife and I attended the Saturday night 10:30 show with the group 'So Funny it Squirts'. (Full disclosure, my daughter is in the group.) Great show eyes where burning from laughter. These are young people looking to get started. They follow the main club's main 9:00 PM veteran group. I think the Squirts are better, but then I'm bias. Check it out for yourselves.

Rookies Improv January 28, 2017First time at the theatre last night! Only got to see the 9pm group but wow they put on a great show! It was hilarious, these guys are pros and kept the show moving fast. I am very impressed and will be back soon!

Rookies Improv January 28, 2017Went to the Friday night 9pm show, Stranger Than Fiction. Great show! The cast plays off each other really well and takes audience suggestions and runs with them. Hilarious! Check them out for yourselves. (bonus: last Friday of the month is Burbank's Food Truck night - quite a treat).

Beyond Stand-Up January 21, 2017The 9 pm show is the one to see! I got to the 9 pm show a little early and they let me go in early. The 8 pm show was not up to par in my opinion. But wow am I glad I stuck around because the 9 pm was great. Really felt like 8 pm was amateur and 9 was the pros. Super funny and entertaining, I would come back for sure and see the 9 pm show again. Four stars for 9 pm!

Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group October 17, 2016You never know what you are going to get with improv. There will be night when it looks and nights when it dies. The crowd to performer interaction always dictates the success. It's a symbiotic experience. The more you interact, the more they feed off your wit and energy, don't go expecting to be entertained, go to be a part of the experience. Improv is humor in the moment.

Rookies Improv October 15, 2016Laughed my butt off! Came in for the 8:00 and stayed for the 9:00 show. The second cast was different from the first, and they took many prompts from the audience which made things funnier. Small, clean venue, excellent performances made for a great evening!

Beyond Stand-Up June 29, 2016What a hoot! Went to the Saturday Night show and had a blast. Came back the following Friday to see the "rookies" and stayed for the "veterans." Liked those shows so much, I came back for the Sunday Night two-team show. Stellar! Improvisations... singing... impressions, especially loved how they brought up someone from the audience to do "sound effects." I will be going back to see Harold.
Super fun... -

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show June 2, 2016So much fun, especially for kids. Huge fan of the "Improv by Teens for Kids", it's hard to find something new and really fun to do with your kids. It's a funny show with talented teens doing improv... Great program for the audience AND for the teens who take the Improv class then get to perform each week!

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show May 22, 2016Last night I had a birthday party for my husband at LA Connection's new location in Burbank. The new location is very easy to get to as well as find a place to park. We all loved the venue, every seat is comfortable and a good seat. We were not squished together like other comedy clubs. It is a very intimate setting which is nice and makes for great interaction with the performers.
We had 13 people in our group. Kent Skov couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. He helped make my husband's birthday, not only a special event, but we all had so much fun. One of the guests in my group works in the entertainment industry. He told me that he had been to 3 other comedy clubs recently, and LA Connection was the best by far. He said he couldn't stop laughing. As a matter of fact, the improve performers had us all laughing.
Kent went the extra mile by bringing my husband onstage to participate and had a fellow performer light candles on the cake back stage (I brought in a cake) and then brought out the birthday cake onstage to surprise my husband. The whole audience sang while my husband blew out the candles. All in all we had a fabulous time.
Thank you Kent for a great evening. -

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show March 6, 2016Our first time to an improv show - and it was the perfect start! LA Connection is a great little theatre in Burbank. The parking was easy, it was friendly and welcoming, the tickets were great value and - most importantly - the comedy was fantastic. We went for the 9pm show, but stayed for the 10:30 show as well which meant more than 3 hours of entertainment for an incredibly low ticket price (we'd have paid more...!). Highly recommended - we'll definitely be back...

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv February 29, 2016I wanted to Celebrate my Birthday with great food, cocktails and the best comedy improve I can remember. After terrific dinner at Los Amigos in Burbank, our large group went to the LA Comedy Connection newly moved from there long standing Sherman Oaks location to there new Burbank home. Kent coordinated everything for Saturday 9 pm improve show. They never disappoint. I told my wife, I just want to be surrounded by my favorite people and laugh. And we did. I wound up getting called on stage as did my good buddy and played along. It's all about having fun. Laughed for almost hour straight. Love that feeling. They are now around the corner from the great Porto's. I think Burbank will become our new fun place to hang. Thank you again Kent! I highly recommend LA Comedy Connection for a good time. Reasonable prices and very funny and talented crew of comedians.

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show February 22, 2016So glad I've been introduced to LA connection! Love the 8pm show on Saturday nights.. Lots of interactive fun with extremely talented folks. Also, your ticket gets you in all night- what a steal!

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv February 7, 2016They've moved!!! To Burbank!! What? If you've never been to an improv before this is a great time highly recommended. Super fun and interactive evening the group moves around the audience and even drags you up on the stage for a couple different skits. For just a couple bucks it's one heck of a great evening. Even better with a large group of friends. Side note Bobs Big Boy is just down the street open 24/7.

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show November 23, 2015This Comedy theatre is one of the best places to start your improv training at! One of the biggest problems performers have is the cost of classes, and LA Connection monthly dues sit at exactly $125. Also members get 10 tickets per month and split 25% of the box office included in their training! Kent Skov is the owner of the theatre, and this man knows improv. His talent has poured over into his very qualified staff, who are all nice and easily approachable. You receive quality that will benefit you in the acting field or if you are just trying trying to have fun. They offer classes for kids, teens and adults, so everyone can get involved!
Only tough thing about the theatre is the parking. There are meters along the street on both sides, but they are full throughout the day with people at the various shops and restaurants. There is a restaurant just up the street where you can valet park your car for $5.00.
I definitely recommend taking classes here before you decide to take or audition for classes at other clubs in Hollywood. LA Connection is the place to help remove your improv training wheels. -

"Sunday FUNNY Sundays!" Improv Show November 16, 2015I loved it! These guys were amazing. They always had something to say and kept my girlfriend and I laughing throughout the show. Im glad I chose to see the show for my 6th month anniversary with my girlfriend. It reminded me of the times I used to watch the popular improv comedy show "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" back in the day. Keep it up guys!!!

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv November 15, 2015Finally I don't have to go all the way to Hollywood to enjoy great improvisational comedy. Second time I go in two weeks and I love it. Top level, fun, intelligent and experienced actors. enjoy it

Rookies Improv August 29, 2015This is the comfort food of improv comedy. The theater is unimposing and even a bit drab, the staff mellow, the obligatory self-celebratory posters ancient and hidden in shadow. I'm pretty sure their web site was the third or fourth ever created. We've been to two shows and the room was never more than half full, on a Friday night. We could make a reservation by leaving one person's first name, no advanced purchase required.
Despite the modest trappings, the talent is top-notch, and the performances on par with anything I've seen at Groundlings, UCB, and other high end improv places around the country. The performers had the kind of boundless energy, instincts for cooperation, and quick mental reflexes that create a great improv show. They seemed to be genuinely having fun, and (as sometimes happens in Hollywood) didn't give you the sense that they'd rather be elsewhere.
We've only been to one particular timeslot, so you mileage may vary if you see other acts than we did. But at $10 for "stay as long as you want" it's a great deal, and a welcome contrast to the overcrowded / self-important / good-luck-finding-parking vibe of Hollywood. -

Rookies Improv July 11, 2015Well worth the entry fee. These actors did a great job keeping up the energy in the room and entertaining me through two shows. I would have stayed for more, but food was calling my name.
I'll come back again for a later showing or when I've got snacks with me. -

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show June 24, 2015This theater is close to my heart because I took my first year of improv classes here. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for improv comedy.
The improv classes are a great value because you can perform up to once or twice a week even when you're just starting out. All of the other improv schools in LA are pretty restrictive with their stage time. Kent, the owner, also provides students multiple opportunities to perform at the main stage at the Comedy Store, which is the experience of a lifetime. The only thing I don't like about the classes is that there is a lot of turnover with students, so it is hard to find a group that you click with enough to have a successful show every time.
Seeing a show here is also a blast. I appreciate comedy clubs that don't force a drink and food minimum or exorbitant ticket fees. The BYOB nature makes for a fun night of comedy. I wish they marketed this place a little bit better so that the house was always as packed as it deserves to be. And yes, parking on Ventura is always a bitch but you come to expect that in the area.
Overall this is a true LA landmark. I definitely hope it is around for years to come, so I can enroll my kids in their children's improv classes. -

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show June 22, 2015I came on a Saturday night for the 9pm show. It wasn't very crowded. I felt bad because there weren't very many outgoing people in the audience during the show I went to, which made it hard because the show relies a lot on audience participation.
It was still funny in spite of that though! But bring your outgoing friends who like to be on stage or shout things out with you. -

Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group June 22, 2015It was great! Really funny and kept your attention the whole time. I really enjoyed the show that I stayed for the second one. Great night!

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv May 11, 2015I went here last saturday for the 8pm and 9pm show and oh boy was the show so funny!! It's a small, cute little theatre with great seats. I definitely recommend this place as a date spot.
PROS:
Actors are very interactive with the audience
Can bring in drinks and snacks
Can stay for other showings if seats are available
Good vibes all around
Humor is adult-friendly
CONS:
Come early to look for parking!! Luckily, I was able to find meter parking, but that was luck. -

Rotating Rookies Improv Show April 19, 2015Awesome show. This was my second time going. Some of the cast recognized our party and gave us free passes for a future show. Small and intimate, perfect setting to be vocal and be involved.
A plus that you can bring your own alcoholic drinks!!
A must do event.
Will attend again next month. -

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv April 12, 2015We took the kids to the 5:30 Teen show and loved it! Small theater so ALL good seats, the show ran just over an hour which is the perfect time for our gang's attention span, they offered chances for the audience to join in but NEVER pressured so my shy ones felt comfortable. I give our emcee/host Kent Skov a standing ovation for his wit and charm, and a tremendous ability to direct and corral the show AND the audience - BRAVO Kent! A big round of applause to all the performers, they blended talent and humor with having fun so we got to laugh a lot. NOTE TO PARENTS: they have no concession so they allow you to bring something in if you want - friendly and saves $!
Thank you LA Connection, we will be back! -

Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group January 1, 2015All the shows are hilarious but the 9pm Saturday show is hysterical. These folks know improv and are a local treasure. A MUST see! Alumni include Will Ferrell, Matthew Perry and Josh Groban.

Rotating Rookies Improv Show November 29, 2014Definitely don't judge a book by its cover. Despite the surroundings, the improv crew are hilarious! Went in to watch Chris Clarke perform and we ended up staying through all shows until midnight. Go early. Pay once. Watch all the shows. BYOB. Alcohol is always a plus.

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv August 14, 2014Pros:
- Hilarious!! Especially the always packed 9pm shows on Saturdays; reminds me a lot of Whose Line Is It Anyway which I love!
- BYOB
- Affordable tickets
- If you buy tickets to one show, you can stay for all the following shows
- Super nice staff/comedians
Cons:
- Parking on Ventura Blvd is impossible. Arrive early so you don't end up being the fool who walks in 15 min late and can't find a seat... -
Sam M.
Rotating Rookies Improv Show July 26, 2014Lots of good laughs here. Especially great that they allow you to BYOB. Will definitely be recommending and going back again.

Rotating Rookies Improv Show June 26, 2014Me and my friends totally had a great time here on Friday! We watched the 8:00 Panda City Show and they had me in stitches! I would totally recommend seeing them :) so funny
We also stayed for the others shows which were so great !
the place is small and so is the stage so i would suggest getting there a bit early (for parking and stuff) I don't think it usually gets packed but if it does find a seat quick!
Bring your own drinks and have a ball! I now have something to do Friday nights -
Sinner B.
Rotating Rookies Improv Show June 23, 2014We had allot of fun here ! Super cheap super chill and you can bring your own drinks and snacks 3 hours of entertainment for 2 people for less then 20 bucks in LA ! ?! We will for sure be back !

LA Connection "All Stars" Comedy Show May 29, 2014Came here and watched an improv show for the first time on a Saturday. Watched the 9pm show and you're allowed to stay for the 10pm show. The first show featured performers who have obviously been doing this for a long time. The second show had some younger performers and they were equally good, delivering laughs more geared towards a younger crowd.
They've got a great thing going on here. Check them out!
Bring your own drinks and food (in a cooler if you're real serious!) but be careful when you choose to consume anything because you don't want to choke on it. That would be embarrassing. -
Tobias P.
Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group April 17, 2014$10 cover in LA. I'm definitely a fan of that. I also like the BYOB policy. I found free parking directly in front of the building. It was apparent that the improv group hadn't been together for a very long time, but they were still entertaining. The house lights were left on during the entire show, which was pretty distracting. My eyes would occasionally wander into the audience at slow points. Maybe I just need to pop some Adderall next time.
-

"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv April 15, 2014We had a great time here! We were looking for something to do since we're new in town & saw their two tickets for $10 & we were thinking "Heck Yea! No shame in being a cheap a$$!" It's a quaint little theater with some fun people performing. We only got to see the improv shows, but we ended up staying all night. We did have to bring our own booze, but it was OK minus the fact that our clinking bottles were probably distracting to the cast. There also was a really strange guy in there in the audience who was blankly staring at us... We thought it was a strange comical addition to the show, but just turned out he was some random guy.
Only thought, put in a bar! -
Amy M.
Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group April 14, 2014Loved this place and cannot wait to go back and stay for more than one show. I laughed so hard. These people are GREAT. Fun times for sure! Check them out.

Rotating Rookies Improv Show March 27, 2014Where to go for some good laughs? LA Connections of course! I didn't know what to expect from this place in terms of aesthetics, so it took a little while to find (it's the blue flashing sign that says LA Connection). Inside, you have maybe 60 theater style seats.
The shows are hilarious! Like other reviewers have already mentioned, these guys encourage you to bring your own food and drink. I brought guac and chips, it was awesome.
Also, buy a ticket for an earlier show, and stay for the later shows! I highly recommend doing that. You can't go wrong with $10 a ticket! -
Mark V.
Rotating Rookies Improv Show March 24, 2014Fun for a show. It only costs $10.00. You can bring your own alcohol, but they don't serve any at all.
They have a kids show as well. Give ti a try. -
Casey F.
Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group March 22, 2014Great venue. Killer talent on the night we went, including some first timers . Wish you could buy drinks -- would make it perfect.

Temporary Insanity Veteran Improv Group March 15, 2014CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! For the equivalent or less of a money ticket price you get up to 4 hours of unique entertainment. Bought a ticket and went at 8 with the girlfriend on a Saturday. The 8-9 show was great, skits, musicals, stuff you think wouldn't be funny but was actually hilarious!!! 9-10:30 show was great too, impressions of famous people. The humor is quick, witty, and smart. Helps a lot if you know your pop culture. Go, bring beer to drink, participate (trust me, its ALWAYS FUN), and have a great time.. Will come again!
-
Benay K.
"Stranger Than Fiction" Veterans Improv March 10, 2014The night we went was probably an off one...as almost everyone seemed to be on stage for the first time, or close to it. It is a small theater, with the front row no more than 5 feet away from the stage, which is pretty cool. The staff were all very friendly, the place seemed clean, parking was very easy. We will probably one day, try it again..but maybe check to make sure it is a night with 'regulars'.
