The best way to see LA !!
I have been to LA once before and felt frustrated that it's such a huge city it's impossible to see everything in a short space of time.
We like cycling so thought this tour would be perfect, it would cover everything and if one or two particular areas interested us, we would go back the following day.
Art was our guide for the day and we felt completely confident under his guidance. We covered some miles !! However we chose to, it is possible to train back to the city if you are too weary.
Great stop for gyros and fruit smoothies at lunch at Venice Beach, and watched the skateboarders pit their skills.
Art was energetic and enthusiastic the whole time. He pointed out all the street art along the way.
All in all, a fabulous day!

Best way to see Los angeles
Art is a fantastic tour guide. He combines history, current events and his own personal experiences into the commentary along the tour.
My buddy and I did the beach tour, which took us from downtown, through the ever changing suburbs to the beach path.
Such a great way to see the city and its diversity
Definitely recommend and and will definitely do another tour with la cycles when next visiting

Art gives a great tour - took the Neighba'hood Art Tour. Art is knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He guided us safely all through the downtown area - showed us some of the most beautiful art as well as filled us in in the history not only of the artists but the neighborhoods we traversed. We'll definitely be back for more of his tours. Wish I could post some of the amazing shots I got along with this review. My guy was born here in LA and I've lived here 20 years and we learned more about this city we love - Thanks Art!

We went on a one way tour of DTLA to finish in Manhattan Beach. The tour and info provided by Art was absolutely fantastic. We got some exercise, an informative tour and some classic stories. I'd recommend anyone to do this (or any of the other tours offered)... it is brilliant!

Great riding with Art
Just finished the beach ride with Art today and it was great! So many interesting insights and looks into the nooks and crannies of Los Angeles.
As a first ride of the season after a long winter in Canada this was a ton of fun, and though I elected to train back from Santa Monica still got in a good 35 mile ride and left me feeling good.

What a great way to see the LA you won't see on any traditional tour. I'm local to the LA area and it was awesome to bike through new neighborhoods, learn local history and culture while enjoying tasty local tacos. Art's local knowledge of the neighborhoods and cuisine kept me listening and interested throughout. For tourists and locals looking for a unique and authentic experience, this tour is highly recommended.

We went on the Taco Tour and I only wish we had time to do more bike tours around other LA neighborhoods with Art. The food is super authentic and he picked out dishes and specialties we had never even heard of. His tours are such a great way to get to know the city. The ride is easy and pretty flat and it's just nice being on a bike seeing things instead of in a boring, sterile, air conditioned bus. Also, what I really like and admire about LA Cycle Tours is that you are going with a local and they are very respectful of the communities they take you into. We stopped at taco trucks, little restaurants, a tailor shop that makes mariachi outfits, and a neighborhood market selling everything from first holy communion dresses to cowboy boots where Art got us fresh juice and sweets for dessert. Everywhere we stopped people knew him and welcomed us and we didn't feel like white interlopers just gawking at people and a culture unfamiliar to us. We learned about history, religious practices, cultural nuances only distinguishable within the community, gentrification, the homeless in LA, and how gangs now use social media. It was fascinating and not the kind of stuff you'd hear on a generic tour of the stars homes. I highly recommend this tour and any other bike tour you can do with Art.

We had a wonderful day out on the ride to the beach tour
Art loves his city and it shows. We cycled 30 miles to Santa Monica from downtown at a leisurely place with lots of commentary. I then took the train back while my wife rode the 20 miles back with Art. We both loved it. We are 60 and 58 and reasonably fit. The ride is pretty flat and I didn't have to change gear or get off the bike for a hill once. I don't ride much so I was saddle sore after 30 miles and happy to take the train back to downtown. Great tour, great guide, great gear and bikes. Thank you Art.

We had the pleasure of joining one of Art's downtown LA biking tours and what a great experience! Not only did we learn a whole lot about the wall paintings in LA and its artists, we also had an amazing storyteller taking us through the history of the city. This combined with extraordinary excellent customer focus and service, patience and humor. We absolutely reckon this as a MUST DO if you come to LA. An experience where both time and money are MORE than well spent.

Best way to visit LA !
I did 2 tours with LA Cycle Tours and I had an excellent time with Art on both times. He knows so much about this city and shares it with passion. I really enjoyed each visits, full of little anecdotes, you can really get the true feeling of this city, outside of touristy paths. Even though the city is really big, we were able to cover a great part of it during our tour, but there are also smaller and easier rides !
I also rented a bike for the duration of my stay and was very glad to do so, with great advices from Art on places to see and paths to travel.

My wife and I had an amazing time on the taco tour with Art. We are locals but he was able to teach us so much about the city and culture. Each stop he chose was fantastic. His enthusiasm was contagious and I would highly recommend his tours to anybody who wants a taste of Mexican culture in LA.

Bike tour of Los Angeles
I had a great tour with the owner, Art. We did the city to beach tour. Art was a great guide with a full knowledge of neighborhoods, scenery, and "scents".
Most importantly he took care of me. It was in the 90's and at times the heat would get to me. He was patient and and made sure we rested and hydrated.
It turned out to be a great tour and I saw parts of Los Angeles not many outsiders get to see. I would highly recommend this tour.

Eye Popping Bike Tour of Downtown LA
My husband and I plus two friends took a fab three and a half hour tour of Downtown LA with Art and Roger from LA Cycle Tours. We saw LA's birthplace, learned about the puebla, toured both the new and original cathedrals, stopped for a photo by space-age Walt Disney Hall, and wheeled our way by the Staples Center, Fashion District, and passed by all the marvelous old movie palaces. More highlights were an inside tour of the acres of orchids and other blooms at the Flower Market, and a peep inside the awesome Bradbury Building. A cycle is infinitely preferable to a car to explore DTLA.

We did the taco truck tour, The food was outstanding. Our tour guides knew loads and was happy to share local tips with us that we used for the rest of our time in LA, they knew the history, culture and cuisines of everywhere we visited and ate at. The tour was really fun and the memeories will definately stay with us.

Did the Taco tour with Art and had a really enjoyable day. He was so knowledgeable about the history, food and art culture of East LA and his wingman Roger was also a really nice guy.
We got to try some fantastic Mexican food as well as some local drinks and sweets. The ride was relatively easy and all in all it was a memorable day and a great experience.

Art was absolutely phenomenal. I was the only person to book on a Monday night and we got in a fantastic ride out to Hollywood and back, with a ton of extra sights along the way. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Do it-- you won't regret it.

Great bike tour with a great guide:-)
The Street art bike tour was a great experience. Art is a guide with huge knowledge about history of the city as well as Street art and he can tell about it in a very interesting way. During the tour I saw a lot of beautiful murals and graffiti and I learned a lot. You can feel the love Art has for the city and the Street art. It wasn't ordinary bike ride with only nice touristic places, Art was honest about problems LA has today but on the other hand showed me the beauty of the city and its people. Thanks a lot. When I'm back to LA I go for another bike tour with Art. Highly recomended. Alicja

DTLA Bike Tour
Took the DTLA bike tour on Memorial Day. Ended up being the only group on the tour which was great as we were able to go at our own pace. Art the tour guide was as nice as can be. His knowledge and love for the city was evident and he was very honest about the problems and optimistic about the future of DTLA. Highlights included visiting the LA Cathedral, riding through part of Skid Row and down a busy alleyway filled with vendors in the Fashion District. Highly recommend this tour as a great way to get to know LA history and culture.

If you want to learn about Los Angeles, you need to do a tour with Art. In cities that I visit, I always want to learn about the communities and the people in them. LA fascinates me with its massive population. While I learned about downtown while on my tour with Art, I learned so much more about the city as a whole that I wasn't expecting to get. To have a tour with an authentic Angelino was priceless. I was so impressed with him and my experience that at the conclusion of the tour, I arranged for another tour a few days later to focus on a few other areas. Art made these tours, and my entire trip, unforgettable.
When I'm in LA again, I will definitely be in contact with Art to arrange another trip.

Taco truck tour
We had a great experience on the taco truck tour, The food was outstanding. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about East LA, they knew the history of the neighborhood as well the cuisines of all of the trucks and restaurants we visited. They made the ride very enjoyable. I found our Saturday afternoon ride to be a special memory of our trip to Los Angeles. I would recommend this experience for anyone who enjoys biking as well as Mexican food.

See LA in another (the perfect) light
If you enjoy riding a bike as much as I do, this will be your thing. Trust me if I say: you couldn't explore LA's hidden gems better, while having an awesome time AND sitting on your bike.
I went on the "Neighba'hood Art Tour - Night Ride" with Art, the guide and for more than 3 hours we went to many places all around downtown LA, in backyards, parking lots, alleys... to discover from tiny art pieces on side walks to murals as big as the walls they are on. There is amazing and very diverse art out there! In places you would never see as tourist at night! And it is changing every night!
Art knows all about different artists, there styles, history, the community, techniques and sees the littlest changes at once. On the way he also explains LA's history not only about art and buildings but also about the people who live in this diverse city. Besides that he is also very nice and funny ;). He even invited me to a LA bike community night ride with many local bikers on the next day, which was awesome!
So overall: every visitor, tourist, everyone who lives in LA should go on this tour! I've been on many sightseeing tours all over Europe and in LA but this one was definitely the best one ever.
Have fun and bike on!

Bikes, donuts and happiness....
My teenagers and I joined Art and Adrian on the pastry tour last week and it was THE highlight of our LA trip-a ride through charming neighborhoods with an awesome playlist, AND you stop for donuts??!!! Where has this been all my life??!! The whole tour just made us all smile-and sing along. We would follow Art anywhere on a bike-:) Cheers to all-join the ride.

Come hungry..leave happy!
I took the Taco Tour and it was AMAZING. Art, the owner and guide, was very friendly, informative and made sure that I got the full taco experience. Art knows a lot of history about the area, and I learned some new facts about Boyle Heights and the surrounding areas. He made helpful recommendations, based on my interest and food preferences. Thankfully, I eat EVERYTHING, so that was easy. My favorite stop was for the shrimp tacos at "El 7 Mare"...amazing, amazing, amazing! You only need one taco, as they are the size of a dinner plate. The shrimp were crispy and fresh, and the sauce was THE BOMB! Art made sure that the group was safe and obeyed all traffic laws, while enjoying the city. This is a perfect tour for tourist who want an all inclusive taco experience. I can't wait to take the tour again with the rest of my family. Thanks again Art!
Andrew L.Taco Tour May 30, 2015
The Taco Tour was the highlight of our trip to LA. Art has put together a circuit that combines gourmet street dining with the history and culture of the area. He has really done his homework. Who knew that Boyle Heights, now mostly Mexican American families, was once a largely Jewish enclave? Or that the area was once covered with vineyards? We got to see where the Mariachi bands buy their musical instruments and fancy outfits. And we got to try about a dozen variations on the taco - shrimp, beef, chicken, pork, mild, spicy - you name it.
We are 65 years old and reasonably fit, and had no trouble keeping up with the pace. We did need a takeout bag for the last helping of tacos, though.

Great way to see Art
Excellent guide. Took me to see magnificent street murals in and around downtown. Many were just around a corner I would never have found on my own. Everyone that goes to the Getty should go on this tour! Great variety of sights and stories. Highly recommend.

My pal and I had a great time cycling around East LA with Art.
Art is crazy knowledgeable. He had a nugget of info to share about every place we cycled past.
The tour is so much more than just food. But the food part is super rad. We went to a taco truck, two sit down restaurants and El Mercado de East LA.
Everything we tried was fantastic. Many different kinds of tacos, proper quesadillas and agua frescas. My pal is vegetarian, and while one restaurant had a veggie sample platter, she didn't get to try as many things as I did at the other places.
When not eating we visited an old synagogue, mariachi store, pet store, mariachi corner. Art gave us a fantastic history lesson of not just Boyle Heights, but also LA.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in eating some great authentic mexican food, plus learning about a part of LA that tourists (or locals) typically don't visit.
The tour price included bikes, helmets and food/drinks.
