LA River Kayaking Private Group (up to 15 people - Sepulveda Basin, near Encino)

Join in on paddling the Los Angeles River and participate in this one-of-a-kind Los Angeles experience with 15 of your friends and family in a private group tour. These guided kayak tours are in the Sepulveda Basin which is the most natural, wonderfully green part of the river which passes through one of two official Recreational Zones. It is a leisurely, 3-mile flatwater paddle which is manageable for beginners and fun for other skill levels, too. You will observe numerous bird species as you paddle along, and spot locals as they fish from the banks. You’ll pick up safety and paddling skills, all while having fun and getting some great exercise along the way. LA River Expeditions runs this trip as a loop to avoid any hassles of portaging around hazards or barriers, or waiting to be transported back to your vehicle. All in all, after this trip you won’t be able to look at Los Angeles in quite the same way again.  LA River Expeditions is the original boating outfit on the river and the only one leading tours in both Recreational Zones. They are the group that, in 2008, paddled the 51-miles of the river to help win environmental protections for the river under the Clean Water Act.  They're proud of our contributions to our city’s education, recreation and activism. They do all this because we are avid kayakers and all-around river enthusiasts. They love rivers and they love sharing the river experience with others. Their guides have decades of collective experience running rivers worldwide. They are professionally trained and certified in both river safety and first aid/CPR.  You’ll be in good hands!
