Intro to Pole Dancing

This is my favorite pole studio in Los Angeles!!! Every instructor here has a unique style of movement and excellent at communicating with students. So far I've taken Veronica Pole, Jen Piper, Tempest, Heather, Monica Kay, Nadia, Brian, and the queen AMD. They are all UUHMAZING! They are excellent instructors who know how to adapt to each student's level and progress someone at a healthy pace. Special shout out to Veronica who is a pole veteran and extremely nurturing. She's been around long enough to know how to properly and safely break down a new move. However, you can't go wrong with any class, the whole staff is wonderful. If you're thinking of trying a pole studio, this one is a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment. HIGHLY recommend.

This is another phenomenal pole studio in the San Fernando Valley. I've taken a few classes here and have found the space to be just the right amount of encouraging and challenging.
Parking is tough because it's the NoHo Arts District. You'll probably have better luck after 6pm, where you can find free parking all along Weddington. There is also a parking lot right by the studio.
The studio space is very cozy. They have a pretty extensive selection of apparel, shoes, and Dry Hands for purchase. If they don't have your size for things, they are happy to order it for you. Along the walls are photos of champions who have trained there and/or teach there--it's nice to know that you're training with people who are good at what they do!
Heather, the owner, is a breath of fresh air. She is incredibly sweet, and she remembered me even on my second visit to the studio. I took her level 1 class and found that she was patient and understanding. It was nice to feel supported.
Veronika is an amazing teacher as well! She has been teaching for so long that she can easily identify what issues you're having, whether it's an issue of positioning your body correctly or overcoming mental blocks. She's patient and knows how to modify her teaching to accommodate for different levels in her level 1/2 class. She doesn't just tell you to do things, she does a phenomenal job explaining why to do things a certain way while also keeping it simple. I LOVE technical instructors (I would rather do one thing and do it 100% correctly than 10 things 10% correctly), and from just one glance she can explain what to correct in a way that is easy to understand.
Nadia is a good instructor as well, but I struggled in her level 2 class because she's a really challenging instructor and I wasn't ready yet (not a negative for her--that's just me). That being said, she helped me with modifications that worked better for my skill level. She is similar to Veronika in that she is a very technical instructor. She has a great sense of humor, too!
Along with the great instruction, I definitely feel like the students are the kind that don't judge you for being at a different point in your journey. It's tough to be in classes where you feel like you are not at the right level but everyone's just so focused on themselves that they're not concerned about you. The students who have been going here together for awhile are certainly more chatty with each other, but I think that's just because they know each other, not because they're cliquey. It's actually really sweet.
In addition to pole lessons, they also offer exotic dance classes at different levels. They have pole shows every few months and they're so fun! It's great to watch how talented folks can be on the pole.
This is a really great studio, I'm pleased with the level of instruction and the sheer amount of classes they offer. Heather has done a great job cultivating this studio and I hope it continues to thrive!

I'm so glad I found luscious maven! I moved to LA from Orange County and needed to find a new studio and had some less than pleasant experiences at other studios. I went to an intro class my first time because I hadn't danced in a few months. I would definitely recommend Jen's class if you're brand new to pole, she even let us borrow heels if we didn't have our own.
I love that they have in between level classes like 1/2. Level 1 classes are a little to slow for me but I still don't have my invert down, so 1/2 is perfect for me. I take it with Tempest. She challenges us just the right amount.
I've taken class with Veronika as well, she's really experienced. I love that she puts the moves together to make some short choreo. I take level 2 with her and most of the students wear heels for this class but they aren't required.
Some of the reviews say parking is difficult but I've been coming here twice a week since February and have found parking a few steps away from the door every time, maybe I'm just lucky.
The only frustration I've ever had here is when people see "level 1/2" class label and think it'll be good for their first ever pole experience. 1/2 is more of an experienced-beginner kind of class. It makes teaching difficult for the instructor when half the class has a few months of dance and the other half has never touched a pole.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review...
Luscious Maven is a GODDESS-SEND. I've been attending regularly for nearly 6 months, and I am so happy to have finally found an exercise variation that not only makes me feel incredible, but I have actually stuck with it (Take that, gym!), and continue to see improvements in my body and STRENGTH with every week that passes.
The teachers here are all incredible. Each one has their strengths and style, so it's best to take a variety of classes to find out who/how you vibe out best.
Some of my absolute favorite things about my pole journey and this studio in particular, are seeing the vast array of different types of bodies, the inclusion, watching my fellow students improve, and the ridiculous amount of encouragement amongst pretty much everyone that comes here. It's therapeutic!
If your schedule allows, a membership here is definitely the way to go.

I came into the studio at the behest of my best friend, who had years prior fallen in love with pole dancing because of this specific studio. I didn't expect to love it, as I had gone to a different studio for my first ever class and had a bad experience. After my 1st class at Luscious Maven I understood what caused her to fall in love with pole, Luscious Maven, and Heather (the owner). From my first class, both my fellow dancers, and all instructors have been welcoming and encouraging. I love that each class is what you make it, if you just need to dance it out and spend an hour feelin' yourself you can do that, if you want to sweat it out, build strength and test your limits, you can do that. I love the encouraging, body positive, community I've found here. The instructors are all EXTREMELY good at what they do. They know the body well and will come to know YOUR body very quickly. A year later I can't imagine not being here at least a few a days a week, my entire social schedule revolves around when I "need" to be in the studio. I encourage everyone and especially those that feel intimidated by trying pole to come to this studio FIRST. You'll be surprised how quickly you become more comfortable in your own skin. Another great thing about this studio is no two instructors have the same style and I've always gotten a LOT from a class with any of them.

I started my pole journey here with the wonderfully welcoming teacher Veronica. The classes are empowering, personally sexy, and also very challenging. Dancing pole here has helped with my body and muscle awareness, given me strength, and made me feel more confident in expressing myself through movement and sexuality. It is not always easy but everyone is encouraging and they create the perfect place to try, fail, try, succeed, try, and fail in whatever order comes.
They are great for first timers and also long term pole student who want to find a home to dance and work out. The corrections are both technically specific (like three spins and a higher ankle with turn in) or intuitive and funny (like more butt.)
I'm looking forward to trying their twerking soon too. The owner Heather is also very kind, and super fun to shop shoes with!Come try pole, you'll get hooked like me!

Went as a part of a bachelorette party. Ten women and two men learned how to work the pole, twerk, and give lap dances!! Our super amazing teacher was Heather West and not only is she HAWT but the homegirl KILLS IT on the pole!
She made the moves easy to learn and accessible for our entire party... ladies, men and even a preggo! Anyone can take her classes. ANYONE.
Can't wait to use my new skill set and will be immediately Googling how much it costs to install a pole in my apartment. No man is safe from my ever growing sexiness!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my first pole class here on Sunday and it was awesome! I am experienced dancer but have never done pole and the instruction was so great, I couldn't believe the things I was doing after just one class. Amazing upper body workout and a great way to feel sexy, have fun, learn something new, and be in a great open environment with other people. Can't wait to come back! Don't be afraid to try this! Again, great instruction and beginners will feel super welcome

I scheduled a private pole class here for my cousin's bachelorette weekend and the 8 of us were more than thrilled with Nadia, our instructor, and the class. It was a new experience to all of us and we loved it. Particular kudos go to Nadia!! Our group ranged in age from under 30 to over 60 and at no time did anyone feel uncomfortable. No one was singled out or made to feel out of place. Everyone was encouraged and made to feel sexy and amazing!
Food and drinks are allowed to be brought in for a minimal charge. Some stilettoes, leg warmers, etc were available for our use, although fitted clothing and barefoot was okay too. Most of us had sore arms and/or legs by the next day; great workout considering it didn't feel like it at all!
Cannot recommend this teacher and location enough. It made my cousin's celebration that much better. Thanks Nadia and Jen!

Intro to Pole class was absolutely amazing!
All the girls were so supportive of each other and the instructor (I forgot her name but she owns the studio) was attentive to all of her students and made sure we were all on the same page and that no one was left behind.
Those of us who didn't have pole dancing shoes were given loaner pairs, the studio was very clean and well lit and the atmosphere was great.
& of course - dancing on the pole surely makes you feel sexy!
