Also 1.5 hours is a long time for an improv show. -

Mission IMPROVable February 15, 2020I feel like leaving anything less than 3 stars would by psychologically damaging. I had a good time and I laughed. But I thought the games played were either too complex or too simple, each not giving the room for the magic of improv, which is the relationship between each comic and where they can take each other- i didn’t feel like a lot of that was happening. The comics gave it their best with what they were working with so I give three stars to that!

Unnecessary Evil Comedy Show January 23, 2017Looking for something fun and low-key on the west side? There's really no point to look any further. The Westside comedy is a no-brainer for a date spot, outing with friends or any other excuse to go out and do something. For $12 for a 60-90min show, this is a must. Some acts will be better than others but that's expected. The hosts do a great job riling up the crowd and the bar is affordable too so really there's nothing to complain about! There are plenty of different shows a week and even on the same day, so definitely come back a few times to see which you enjoy most.

Unnecessary Evil Comedy Show November 26, 2016I came here yesterday 11/25/2016 Unnecessary Evil for my wife's bday. For so long she expressed she wanted to go to a comedy club and I found this place on Yelp. Bought tickets online and picked up at will call. We were 10 mins late and every chair was occupied! (Don't be late it gets very crowded.) However when I expressed to one of staff members if they had extra stools she said she would work on it and about 5 mins later she called me over and had two seats for us! I couldn't believe, so kind! I really wish I got her name! It was nice of her, I never expected that to happen especially not at a comedy club and especially when I was late and she didn't have to do that. The bartender was also very nice, very attentive! This place not only is in a great location has really good people running it! I will definitely be back! P.S Grant Lyon was the best comedian up there! I haven't laughed that much in a long time! Now I'm going to go find him in YouTube so I can laugh some more! :)

Mark Franco Grand Comedy Showcase June 30, 2016My favorite comedy club, period. This back alley gem is small, affordable, and always fun. The improv (Friday and Saturday) is my favorite, my go to for date night. The no drink minimum is nice for the wife and I too since we don't drink. But even if you do drink, the prices aren't bad. We're moving out of state, unfortunately; I'm going to miss this place.

Mark Franco Grand Comedy Showcase June 15, 2016Cheap CHEAP tickets, no drink minimums, and the shortest possible time between walking in and the show starting make this the best comedy house that I've been to in so cal. Though you don't have to indulge, they do offer alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. There's also a cheap and garish Irish pub restaurant around the corner where you can get cheaper drinks and a huge plate of food for under $10. Make an evening of it!

Unnecessary Evil Comedy Show May 29, 2016Such a fun spot! Tickets are never more than $10 and there's no drink minimum! Depending on the night you'll either see standup or improv. I like both!
I'm a local and for the past 3 years coming to Westside they have treated us like family from the beginning! Chris, the owner, is very funny. He performs in an improv troupe called The Grind. The team is good but his talent stands out. Chris also, does standup and is sometimes seen introducing the talent of the show.
At this venue, many celebrities have been onstage. Too many to list but FYI great place to see famous comics! It's LA! Even though it's not located in Hollywood all the talent holds up. I love it here! I don't go anywhere else.
The theatre is located in an alley by a parking garage. The only problem is they don't sell food so eat before:) -

Unnecessary Evil Comedy Show May 24, 2016Where else can you get an hour and a half of good live entertainment for $12? I went to their Unnecessary Evil 8pm show and had a lot of laughs. I will definitely go again.

Unnecessary Evil Comedy Show April 22, 2016I had such a blast here tonight. They had five comedians perform and each one was hilarious in their own way. This spot actually made me realize how much I miss stand up. They don't require a 2 drink minimum here the way they do at other clubs.
I'm bummed that I haven't been here in ages. I will certainly be back in the very near future! -

Twelve 5-Minute Standup Routines January 16, 2016I came on a rainy Tuesday and got to the venue just before the show started. We were afraid the place might be packed or we might not get seats but when we entered there were many seats available even though the place had a good number of people already there. The best thing about this place is that the tickets were only $5! The beer selection is very diverse and they have a large amount of very interesting and diverse beers to choose from. I suggest trying the blueberry beer or the banana bread beers. So good! For a rainy Tuesday, they had a nice variety of comedians for the show. We also stayed for the open mic night and saw some amazing new talent and some very "interesting" people as well. It was a great night and I will definitely be returning for another show!

Twelve 5-Minute Standup Routines September 11, 2015I go to WCT every chance I get. I love that I can walk there from home, watch some great acts for 5-10 dollars and get a drink for $6! U can't beat it. I've watched them grow from back in the day when they had no bar and there might have been a few people in the audience to now sold out weekend shows! I also attended their improv and stand up classes - great group of people - I really adore them all.

Great lineup of comedians and nice selection of cheap drinks! Great spot to bring a date or a night out with friends. Close to the promenade so you can grab dinner or drinks before ;)
