We really enjoyed this food tour and our guide Andrew was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and took us to many amazing little restaurants and markets within the Farmers Market. Loved the Mexican tacos and the dips and cheese store. Definitely recommend this tour!

This was one of the best tours I have been on. Our family was here from Canada and thoroughly enjoyed Andrew!! He was the best and will definitely doing this tour with other friends and work!!

What a pleasant surprise. I thought the tour would consist of going to restaurants and tasting food, and while it did that, it was so much more! Andrew was our guide and he was great, giving us the history of East LA and taking us to historic eateries and even the area's first tortilla factory where we watched them churn out freshly baked corn tortillas. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a fun and interesting day.

I've been on their Old Pasadena tour and loved it so I decided to take this one too, so me and my niece went on Saturday and we really enjoyed it. Our tour guide Diane was very knowledgeable and shared the history of La Espanola Meats, and then introduced us to Alex, who is one of the owners. He went into detail about the family history, including how the family migrated to the USA more than 35 years ago.
Then, Alex took us inside the factory for a "behind the scenes" tour of how they make their sausages and cured meats. We were surprised to learn that they make everything at this location.
Following the tour we sat outside and they brought plates filled with their wonderful meats, marinated Spanish olives and cheeses, and then Alex brought us bottles red and white Spanish wines to sample. As if it couldn't get any better... they brought out a huge pan with home cooked Paella packed with seafood (green mussels, shrimp, squid, calamari) and red Spanish peppers that was OH SO GOOD! Then they brought out some handmade olive oil tortas, and finally some chocolate fig bon bons. Did I say they were amazing?
The education alone was worth the price of the tour! But when you add on the amazing food, it's the best value EVER!
Thank you Diane and Alex for a wonderful experience!

I did the Pasadena food tour & we had an excellent guide Laura. All instructions were perfect from meeting point to parking our car. We started prompt on time & slowly walked from roads to alleys which were beautiful. Laura explained everything from history to architecture as we walked from one food stop to another. I would have completely missed all these had I driven myself & only looking at the big signs on the main roads. Mexican torta with cantaloupe juice, fava bean falafels (my favourite), tuna poke, blossoming flower tea (unique experience), empanadas, ice creams, ginger chocolate & stopping by a soap production highlighted our trip. We didn't even realize how fast 3.5 hrs passed by. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Just completed a private party walking food tour of Pasadena ~ at night ~ for a 60th Birthday celebration. We absolutely LOVED this tour! Lisa was the best, the food on the tour was amazing, and we loved hearing about the art, history and architecture of Old Pasadena! (And we all live in the area and eat here all the time). Many new places to go back to now !
This was my 2nd tour with Melting Pot Food Tours....the LA Farmers Market tour is a MUST as well. This is a top quality company with premier customer service!

We did the tour in Pasadena. It was really fun. I didn't expect to enjoy myself, but it ended up exceeding my expectations. Come hungry because there is a lot of food. I was expecting very small samples but the samples were pretty decent sized. We tried food from different family owned restaurants. Most of the food was from different countries such as Venezuela, the Mediterranean and India. We also went tea tasting [that was actually one of my favorite things]. Our guide was very knowledgeable and really sweet, her name is Laura. Overall it was a good experience. I got to learn a lot about Pasadena that I didn't know before and I got to try some pretty good food. The only thing I don't really care for was the price. It's a little bit pricey, but I think it was still fun.

We went on this tour a few years back and loved it! We still talk about it. And we still like to visit Pasadena a few times a year and always hit up Equator and also pick up some Opera Cake. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this tour.
