    How To Use Your Body To Tango (Open Level)

    Care to tango? Then you’ll want to check out this all-level skills workshop featuring the classic moves of this expressive social dance. Under the guidance of expert dance instructors, you’ll be working on low-impact, high energy, skill building drills that will not only teach you the technicalities of tango, but help you to internalize them so you can concentrate on tango’s best aspect: having fun! You’ll practice solo exercises with a focus on extensions, weight transfers, and pivots. Your instructors will help you make the body posture adjustments necessary to evoke a natural rhythm in your dance that is fluid and easy for a dance partner to accompany. In addition to learning essential tango skills in a fun, supportive environment, you’ll be getting a great aerobic workout that will leave you feeling fit, happy and self-assured.     Tango: Connection and Improvisation Techniques

    You might know the steps, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be left sitting on the sidelines. Key to tango is the ability to improvise on the fly and communicate nonverbally with your dance partner. This workshop is aimed at enhancing those skills so that you’ll be everybody’s first choice to dance with. You’ll learn to read your partner’s movements whether they’re beginners or experts, creating instant rapport with perfect strangers. You’ll also develop the skills to make adjustments on the fly, leading to original sequences that will leave onlookers dazzled. Expert dance instructors will give you advice and help clue you into the secrets that will start turning you from a hobbyist to a professional yourself, all within a fun, upbeat environment that’ll seem a little like a party itself.     Tango: Intro to Turn

    The turn in Tango is its most iconic move. If you can’t master it, then you might as well be spinning in circles. Lucky for you, Oxygen Tango will set you in the right (or left) direction with this introductory class focused on all things turn. You’ll become technically proficient in working the “grapevine pattern,” which is the default sequence in most tango giros (turns), and its master the secret ingredient that postulant dancers into sizzling artists. You’ll take turns leading and following, turning left and right and practicing footwork in solo drills that, while technically demanding, are the perfect entry point for serious students. If you want to tango like a star, this is your chance. It’s your turn to shine!

    Milonga and Flow

    You know latin dance parties are where the action is at. But how do you join in the dance party without looking like you’re having a seizure? The instructors at Oxygen Tango have you covered! During this introductory class you’ll work on mastering box step patterns and variants in solo drills that will make the fiery moves of tango second nature. And to keep things fun, you’ll be working to a subgenre of tango music called milonga, which carries a lively 2/4 tempo that will get your heart pumping. All of this of course makes this class not a only a great learning experience, but a fun, engaging aerobic workout that will leave you feeling fit and happy. After you’re finished with this class, the only people having seizures will be those watching you as you send their brains into overdrive with your red-hot moves!
