French Quarter Food & History Tour August 25, 2017My partner and I went on the Voodoo tour with Robi, who is a high priest with extensive knowledge about several types of voodoo. The man is a delight in every possible sense and was very willing to chat with you during the tour. He broke down what Voodoo is, how modern stereotypes of the religion came to be, the difference between hoodoo and voodoo, and how integral it was and continues to be to the slave communities of New Orleans and their descendants.
P.S. He will give you a role to play in several of the demonstrations. My girlfriend and I served as the leading high priestess and head voodoo doctor of the family. It really helped me to keep everything straight as he discussed the rituals and roles. -

French Quarter Food & History Tour August 8, 2017Great tours for free! You cant beat that. Other places charge you about $25 per person per tour and you get the same exact thing!
In my visit to New Orleans we did three tours. We missed one.(too much partying the previous night)
We did the haunted tour, we did the voodoo tour and we did the cemetery out of the city(cant remember the name)
I cant remember any of the tourist guides name but they were are city credentialed!
Our favorite one was the haunted one. Took us around the whole town and told us amazing stories. The Voodoo one took explained to us by putting us as examples to understand the voodoo beliefs. And the cemetery one was about 25 mins in the trolley out of the town (garden district) and our guide took us to around the city. You pay them whatever you would like. I tip all of them about $10-15.
Great service great quality. They truly know their history. -

French Quarter Food & History Tour July 26, 2017We did two tours, the French Quarter and also the Voodoo tour. We had Sandy who had a great sense of humor and led a great tour telling us about the history of how Nouvelle Orleans came to be. Robi of the Voodoo tour was HILARIOUS totally loved him and his energy. Truly loved learning about the true meaning behind voodoo, don't let Hollywood fool ya! Don't want to say more to spoil anything. Highly recommended !

French Quarter Food & History Tour July 9, 2017We had Mikko from Mexico via NOLA via Boston via NOLA via SCarolina.
He had a good, though sometimes borderline offensive, sense of humor, and, all in all, was very knowledgeable about Nawlins, especially the French Quarter.
From the difference between Creole and Cajun, to the history behind the scandals that shaped Nawlins, Mikko seemed to know an exhaustive amount about his adopted hometown.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend Mikko as a tour guide. -

French Quarter Food & History Tour June 27, 2017We took two tours during our trip to New Orleans (Cemetery and Voodoo). Both were equally amazing in their own ways.
Kathy led the Cemetery tour in the pouring rain and didn't miss a beat. It was great learning some of the history of the city and the importance and unique nature of the cemeteries.
We were spared of the rain for our Voodoo Tour and Robi took full advantage. It was so great to learn about Voodoo and dispel a lot of the incredibly stupid misconceptions about the religion.
I would highly recommend both tours as it's nice to mix some culture and history into the food and drink and food and drink. -

New Orleans Ghost Tour November 19, 2014A group of us (6 girls) went on the French Quarter Ghost Tour with Melissa as our guide. The tours are "free" but you choose how much you want to tip based on your experience. Don't be a jerk and not tip at all! If that's what you plan on doing, don't even bother RSVPing and wasting the guides' time because they are awesome!
Melissa was so full of energy and you could tell how much she loved New Orleans! It was great that she shared her own personal paranormal stories and experiences. Her storytelling abilities are awesome and made me feel the pain that the ghosts experienced. We learned about everything from the pirates who ran the city, a woman willing to die for her lover, the infamous Madam LaLaurie (who was covered in American Horror Story Coven) to the many haunted hotels in the area.
The tour was not "scary" but rather full of history, creepiness and thrills! I highly recommend booking a tour with this group! -

New Orleans Ghost Tour November 12, 2014I used to give ghost tours in Charleston, SC....so oftentimes I am am critical of a tours delivery or historical knowledge. Not so here. James, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and VERY entertaining. This was hands down my groups favorite part of the trip!

French Quarter Food & History Tour November 5, 2014We recently took the Culinary Tour of the French Quarter with David. Highly recommend this tour guide and this tour. We learned so much and had a great time. Clearly David loves New Orleans and knows what he's talking about when it comes to food. He recommended several places we had never heard of--even after several visits to NOLA--and he was right. They were wonderful! We had a great time and would take the tour again in an instant.

French Quarter Food & History Tour November 4, 2014Our guide whose name I believe was Elizabeth, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She pointed out the house where Tennessee Williams wrote A Streetcar Named Desire and also William Faulkner's house. She managed to find "quiet" streets away from the crowds, no small feat on a Saturday.

New Orleans Ghost Tour November 1, 2014We went on Ghost Tour with James and a Tour of the French Quarter with Natalie. Both tours were great and both guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

New Orleans Ghost Tour October 27, 2014Just did the French Quarter ghost tour and I thought it was great!! Some of the stories ran a little long, but the host was so friendly, knew his stuff, and had a great personality. And most of all, the stories were interesting. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Also, its a free tour, but obviously they appreciate tips with what you think the tour is worth. he never mentioned that fact over and over like others tours do and that was appreciated it. I didn't feel hounded to give and give like some tour companies can do. He did a great job so I was happy to give him money for his time and effort. Id def take another one of their tours to learn even more about other parts of the city.

New Orleans Ghost Tour October 27, 2014We were hesitant to take a walking tour at night, but no one should pass up the chance to have a ghost tour in one of theist haunted cities in the US. Our guide Mellissa was incredibly professional and knowledgable. I could not have asked for a better experience. She kept the group safely together and out of the streets. And not only did she have excellent (and researched) ghost stories she really showed is a bit of history of the city and could recommend where to go while on the rest of our stay. She also shared pictures and a lot of her own personal experiences with the ghosts and the city itself. It's a pay what you
feel tour, but I'm sure all will find it's a highly valuable experience. -

French Quarter Food & History Tour October 23, 2014I was really surprised how wonderful this your was. I thought because it was free we would get a lower quality tour but that was not the case at all. Our tour guide, David, was really passionate about the material (we chose the culinary tour) was super knowledge about and just an all round great guy. Someone you would want to be friends with. He started the tour by bringing some really wonderful snacks. The tour itself started right on time and ended right on time. My husband and I are kind of guided tour junkies and so we have a lot of experience, and we would both highly recommend this tour and I'm assuming other tours by the same company. And of course, don't be a jerk and tip your guide heartily, although I did get this impression that he would have been cool with it if you didn't tip as all, a job well done is always worth rewarding.

New Orleans Ghost Tour August 1, 2014Ghost tour with plenty of ghosts in homes and hotels. Must come early. Very interesting! Thanks Tour guide Melissa! I still remember my stories but I don't plan to experience them. It's better listening to them. New Orleans is very haunted. Some hotels there advertise their ghosts so don't be afraid if you hear your TV going off, see apparations on your cameras or hear running down the halls.

New Orleans Ghost Tour June 28, 2014We did the ghost tour with James as our guide and got more than we expected! The tour was two hours long and gave us full of history in addition to the ghost lore. The group was approximately 24 people and we walked a good amount (wear good shoes!). It was so much more informative than we anticipated and well worth what other tours charge. James was excellent - would definitely do the other tours with him as well!
