Two Plantation Tour Combo

What to expect
  • Soak in the history of our nation when you visit The Laura Plantation and The Oak Alley Plantation
  • Explore New Orleans in the best way -- with a local guide
  • Get a glimpse of how life was in the oldentimes when you visit two plantations with actors in full dress
  • Get to know the Bayou like a local with a local captain from a locally-owned family business that started in '89!
You're not gonna get to know N'Awleans any better than this locally-owned family-run business that's been doing their thing since '89!

On this tour, you'll visit two plantations. One is The Laura Plantation, once run by four Creole women (most notably, Laura, whom it was named after). You'll also hear other facts about how the book "Brer Rabbit" was written on the grounds, and how The Laura Plantation was nearly destroyed by fire back in 2003 and rebuilt to its original design using materials from antique homes that had been disassembled and sold off into pieces. What a history!

The other stop will be at The Oak Alley Plantation -- which looks just like the movie, "Gone With the Wind." The very last owners were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stewart, and though Mr. Stewart died years before his wife, Mrs. Stewart created a non-profit organization to keep their gift open to the public for years to come.

In both Plantations, you are sure to enter the harrowing history of slavery, viewing the quarters where humans were once entrapped into labor, and hearing stories of all aspects of the plantation life. You'll also learn facts about the previous owners of The Plantations and the restoration efforts both grounds have endured. Either way, you're bound for a history lesson.

Take this tour to get to know the human history of this beautiful region. Your guide will be a local captain who has lived the Cajun Life, living in harmony with the ecosystem on a daily basis, so you're in good hands!
