When you visit a city, do you ever catch yourself saying, "Yeah, yeah -- this is all swell but where's that seedy underbelly?" Well -- this tour's for you.
Explore the French Quarter's History through tales of prostitution. You'll learn about unforgettable figures involved in the New Orleans sex trade. Meeting up near the Cafe du Monde, your first stop will be a scenic view of the Mississippi River and Jackson Square. It's here, in the heart of the Vieux Carre, that your guide will discuss with you the sex trade, and its part in the founding of the city.
You'll then wind downriver, stopping off for a drink at Tujague's on our way to the French Market to share tales of colorful port life. The Civil War and the public women's plight during this turbulent time will be revealed. Lovely Royal Street in the evening will be just one part of the landscape of the tour.
You'll quickly cross bustling Bourbon Street and head towards the back of town. The second bar stop varies. One possibility is May Bailey's, a well-known location for lewd and abandoned women. The tour will conclude in front of a well-known brothel in the shadows of Storyville.
And after that, well... it's all up to you.
Note: Must be 21+ to participate.
