Learn how to fly a plane in New Orleans on an exhilarating 50-minute flying lesson that includes sights of the mighty Mississippi River, the historical French Quarter and Mercedes-Benz Superdome! The must-do experience includes 20 minutes of on-ground tuition, followed by 30 minutes in the air under the watchful eye of the pilot -- an instructor certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Help control the plane during takeoff and landing, and enjoy your airborne time to take control and maneuver the plane through the skies! No license or prior experience is necessary.

Meet your pilot at the Flight Academy of New Orleans, and spend the first 20 minutes of your experience learning about the pre-flight procedure that all pilots do before flying. Study the instrument panel to work out the different controls, learn about the engine start sequence, and chat through the basics of flying such as taxiing the aircraft and preparing for takeoff.

Then, head out to the ramp to step aboard your small sightseeing plane and take your seat in the cockpit. Under the watchful eye of the pilot sat at your side, launch the aircraft into the sky, and then enjoy roughly 30 minutes of free flying through the air.

Learn how to maneuver the plane up and down, to the right and to the left as you soar through the skies around New Orleans, above the plantations and swampland that typify the city's outskirts, and then above New Orleans itself. Gaze down at Mercedes-Benz Superdome--home stadium of New Orleans Saints American football team--and the bright lights of the city laid in front of you. Weave through the skies above the French Quarter, and see the mighty Mississippi River snaking through town.

When it's time to return to ground, listen to your pilots instructions for touchdown, and then help guide the plane back to the runway. After touching down, your pilot will sign your logbook that officially records your flight over New Orleans.
