    Raccoon Brook Hike

    Nothing says outdoorsy like a hike through diverse terrain and scenery! Embark on a Raccoon Brook hike, and expect to pass through large boulders, wander through mountain laurel tickets, and glimpse understories of blueberry bushes and cross intermittent streams. As you continue to climb, you will reach a rock ledge covered in scrub oak and pitch pine with a dramatic overlook of Harriman State Park to the southwest. After reaching the top of the mountain, you'll enjoy the breathtaking scenery with a lunch break before heading back down to where you started. Cross over the Pine Meadow Dam to continue on the rest of the hike, which follows the babbling Stony Brook and is a particularly scenic route back to the visitor's center. It's a great way to take in nature and enjoy this scenic area.

    Catskills High Peak HIke

    Are you on the outside looking in or the inside looking out? Forget the metaphors! Come along for a hiking trip to the very top of the tallest peak in the Catskills. Hike to the top of a 4180' peak in the heart of the Catskill Mountains for a panoramic view of the region. You will depart early from New York City. Once you arrive, you will see the beautiful trees, mountains, and landscapes of the area. Expect to come home feeling refreshed and ready to rejoin civilization. Note: The difficulty level of this hike is moderate: These trips are recommended for people who exercise at least 1-2 times per week and can handle a day of high exertion. Expect steady, but not sharp, elevation gains of 1-2,000 feet and distances between 6 and 10 miles. Just about everyone without major health issues can comfortably participate in this level of hike.
