Have you ever wanted to create your own photograph? Or maybe you have always wondered what really goes on in the darkroom? The Bushwick Community Darkroom is offering that very experience. Bring in a roll of developed black and white film, and you will be taught how to use the equipment and proper chemistry to make prints from your own negatives. Designed for both the absolute beginner and anyone looking for a refresher course, you’ll learn basic darkroom terms and practices. Take this class and tone, enlarge, and capture a higher quality photograph. You’ll be surprised with what you see… or don’t see.
Note: Entrance is through the shops at the Loom in unit. You must either bring in a roll of developed black and white film or drop off your film one day in advance for processing. 8x10” RC photo paper is supplied but more variety of finish and quality paper may be brought to class as well.
