Avoiding the integration of whole grains into your diet? Still can’t get away from the white Wonder bread? By now, you probably know you should be eating a variety of whole grains, but you’re not sure how to get started, or you fear that they’ll taste “too healthy.” Let’s be honest, sometimes they do. In this cooking class, learn the proper methods of cooking grains such as quinoa, farro, millet, lentils and Thai black rice. You'll also find out how easy it is to make these grain-filled dishes delicious and totally addicting. There’s a whole world of starches that are good for you and lend diversity to everyday dining. Full of flavor and packed with nutrition, find yourself feeling more “whole” the more you eat these whole grains.

Note: A glass of wine per person is included. A sample menu includes:

Abigail Hitchcock is the chef and sole owner of Camaje Bistro in Greenwich Village, and co-owner of Abigail Cafe & Wine Bar in Prospect Heights. She earned her blue ribbon cooking diploma from Peter Klump's New York Cooking School (now The Institute of Culinary Education) and has worked at The Tea Box at Takashimaya in New York, Vong in London and at BBC's Good Food Magazine. Abby also has worked at Martha Stewart Living television and spent three years as a recipe development chef. She is a certified sommelier.
