About this Activity
Since practitioners of BJJ excel in ground fighting, you'll be learning a host of takedown methods to drop your opponent fast. From there, you'll focus on joint locks, chokes, and grappling motions to immobilize and subdue your opponent.
In addition, you'll develop body control, flexibility, and strength along with the mental benefits that come from martial arts training.

I've been going to Commack MMA for a few months now and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. As a nerdy and shy person i was pretty nervous to give it a try but the coaches and other students make you feel right at home. If you ever feel interested in martial arts i would definitely recommend training at this gym.

Absolutely LOVE this gym!!! After being injured for a year and a half and luckily recovered from an accident I was recommended this gym by a close friend in college. Love this place. They are so great with my 4 yo and even let my 2 yo get in on the action once in a while. Coach Paul is great with kids and they are learning solid technique even at a young age. I wouldn't take my kids anywhere else.

I've trained in Martial Arts for over forty years, and have been teaching professionally for thirty.
When I wanted to find a school for my own personal training in Brazillian Jiu-jitsu, you can bet I obviously did some pretty thorough searching. Besides top quality instruction, my concerns were also the staff and people that I would be training with on a regular basis. What I found at Commack MMA far exceeded my expectations. Professor Tom Muller, the Head Instructor and owner, is an exceptional instructor. He is warm, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and has the ability to break down techniques so that even the complex becomes simple and fun.
Staff Instructor,Paul Rodriguez makes learning an enjoyable experience. I look forward to each and every class with them. The other thing that separates Commack MMA from the rest of the schools out there is their zero tolerance for egos and attitudes, and the utmost concern for the students' safety. This, is an absolute must, whether you are a student of any level looking to train, or a parent looking for a safe environment for your children to learn.

One of the cleanest places I have trained at the staff clean the entire gym daily. They are professional and friendly. The instructors are very knowledgeable and welcoming. Try out a class you will be treated like part of the team.

Started my BJJ career elsewhere with inconsistent results. From the first day I walked in to the academy until now I have been treated like family and been exposed to some of the best grapplers in the Tri-State area. Whether you are interested in BJJ for fitness reasons, sport/competition, Self Defense, or have Professional aspirations there is literally something for everyone. The breadth of experience in the Gym is astounding and the atmosphere is completely conducive to personal growth from Professor Muller down to all of the students themselves. If you are looking to get in shape or try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu this would be the place to do it.
