During this deep exploration of the Lower East Side, you'll travel alongside an expert in local culture, enjoying insights into the traditions and political landscape of the neighborhood's strong Jewish population. You can expect to visit some of the cities oldest synagogues, the headquarters for legendary Jewish newspaper Forward, and several other sites and you meander through the scenic streets.

You'll stop in for samples at several of the Lower East Side's popular Jewish restaurants, including Houston Street eateries Yonah Schimmel's, Russ & Daughters, and Katz's. Plus, your guide will introduce you to a few of the lesser-known eateries, and, depending on the time of day, perhaps take you for an appetizing stroll through some of the best covered markets.
