About this Activity
In the age of GPS devices, it's easy to forget the importance of basic navigation skills. This class will give you the knowledge of how to use a map and compass, so you're ready for anything the wilderness has to offer you. You will learn such important skills as magnetic deviation, triangulating your position, and staying orientated. Get an even further understanding of these skills from learning in both a classroom and from applying them in a field setting. Never feel lost while you're in the woods again!
Note: This trip is of easy difficulty; anyone who is new to hiking is welcome. Expect to travel distances between 6-7 miles on a trail/path with little elevation gain. Gear to Go Outfitters has teamed up with Blue Apron Foods to offer boxed lunches that are available for purchase the day of your trip.
