Went on the tour today and have only wonderful things to say.. We stopped at 4 different Harlem eateries. First was a light salad at Living Salad. Perfect on a warm NY day. Our next stop was at Jacob's. the fried chicken & Mac & cheese were excellent. The desert at the Pattiserie was very good. The tour guide Denise was engaging and knowlegable. The Astor row houses were a delightful discovery. Having grown up in NY, it was a pleasure to see Harlem Resurgence

I had an incredible time on this tour! Our tour guide, Denise was welcoming, kind and informative. The dynamic of the group was phenomenal. Denise did a wonderful job of making sure everyone got along great and enjoyed a taste of Harlem's rich history and food culture.

Great for a laid back food and neighborhood adventure. These are local spots that may not look like much from the outside. This tour is not for someone looking for the famous chefs and fancy environments, it's just good food. Denise is very open to answering questions to the best of her ability about the neighborhood, and to discussing restaurants that aren't stops on the tour.

My daughter purchased this tour for us for my recent visit to NY. Met a wonderful group of people and sampled some great food. Denise was a wonderful tour guide who gave us so much information on the history of Harlem. Beautiful architecture and great shopping experience. If visiting NY and looking for a truly unique experience I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour for any out-of-town guest who's looking to experience Harlem. My wife and I really enjoyed it but we both live in Harlem and experienced several of those restaurants, plus we were already reasonably familiar w/ the neighborhood.
I would recommend this tour for someone looking at a great walking/eating tour of Harlem. It's a part of the city that tourists often overlook, usually because someone (or a crappy guide book) told them Harlem is dangerous. Harlem is a very vibrant part of Manhattan with amazing restaurants, culture, and people.
If you are looking for a good fun tour to do in Manhattan, I would certainly recommend.

My husband and I were on a trip in NYC in search of a way to experience the local scene. We decided to take the Harlem Sweet and Savory Food Tour and I'm so glad we did. Denise our tour guide was knowledgeable and the food was delicious. As the other reviewer said the places we stopped were "hidden gems", but everything we tried was delicious . I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to try a taste of Harlem.

My husband and I love food and culture and wanted to experience both on our visit to Harlem without being too touristy. Our guide, Denise, was so much fun and so knowledgeable about both! We sampled a variety of food: Caribbean, Senegalese, fresh Soul Food, and had a tasty treat at the end. One of my favorite parts was that Denise took us to the "hidden gem" spots that we likely wouldn't have chosen on our own. We did a fair amount of walking which was fine by me, and it gave us time to chat and digest. We had great conversation, exchanged some food and cooking tips, and had leftovers to share. Denise really enjoys what she does, and it shows. I definitely recommend this experience for anyone who wants to get a good quality "taste" of Harlem! (p.s. Veg friendly upon request: ALWAYS a plus!)
