You've always wanted to pull off your own Mission Impossible and rappel from a ceiling to steal classified files. Or maybe you just want to freak out your roommate. This is a great place to learn the basics of rappelling and practice your skills in a safe and secure environment. From an indoor ledge with installed ladder access, experienced instructors will guide you through the proper steps from setting up your anchor to taking that first step off the edge and rappelling down. You will learn a standard rappel in which you lower yourself down the with your back toward the ground and feet in contact with the wall, letting the rope slide through the belay device. For the Australian rappel, you will face towards the ground instead. For the military rappel, you will actually push off the surface of your climb to "jump" down at a quicker speed. No experience necessary for this class, so there's nothing standing in the way of fulfilling those grandiose Tom Cruise fantasies.
