Knife Skills June 15, 2019It was an amazing class. The chef has endless suggestions for the extra bits of veggies that were chopped off. I felt much more comfortable with sharpening my knife on the honing Steel. Now I can chop an onion skillfully in many different ways ! Thanks Chef Siegel!

The Great New York Steakhouse January 22, 2018The class was really fun and the food came out amazing. The chef was extremely helpful and hands-on when needed, but let us do most of the work in order to learn various techniques. And you get to keep the recipes!

The Bacon Steakhouse December 31, 2017The chefs (Gerri and Jack) were awesome! I gave this to my boyfriend for Christmas and he thanked me 5 times throughout the night. You don't get to cook all the recipes on the menu, which I was a little disappointed about at first, but it totally makes sense. A lot to learn and a lot of fun! Will definitely visit again to do another class!

The Texan Steakhouse July 15, 2017The instructor was absolutely amazing. I would take a class on food I have no interest in if he was teaching!

Couples Cooking: Pizza and Wine Bar July 8, 2017My family and I took a private hands-on cooking class for my sister's bachelorette party and we could not have asked for a better evening! The staff was AMAZING and the food and atmosphere exceeded our expectations (and they were already high). It was truly a fantastic, well-done event from start to finish and one that we will remember very fondly for years to come. It was perfect for all ages and we haven't stopped raving about it since we left!

The Whiskey Steakhouse May 24, 2017Was taken here to a cooking class as a surprise for my birthday by my sister. It truly was an amazing experience, I learn new skills, met new people and most importantly ate some delicious food that I still think about. It was awesome and I would def. recommend anyone who wants to learn how to cook or just wants to go out and try something new to take a class here. They have different types of cuisines, the one that we went for was New Orleans. The class was three hours, they give you all the ingredients to work with, the recipes and off you go and make it yourself with the advisory of the chef. Our class had total of 10 dishes and at the end you get to sit and eat it all. I was surprise myself on how delicious the food came out and I took part in making it. It was a lot of fun and I would def. go back and try to learn a different cuisine. They also do cakes and desserts, yay!!!

The Whiskey Steakhouse May 20, 2017Wasn't able to participate in all the menu, chef gave a menu to each group. Not enough explanation, couldn't see not even one complete menu.

Cuban Surf & Turf March 14, 2017Chef Lorrie was very informative and helpful. She also had a helper, chef Shafik who was super nice. It was wonderful to have the run of the whole kitchen. When we first arrived, we went over all of the recipes for the night. One drawback to having such a large menu, is that not every group gets to make every dish. Out of the three main dishes, each group only made one. ( there were four people to each group ) So, if you really want to make something off the menu, make sure you get there early enough to tell the head chef which group you would like to go to.
At the end of the cooking, there was a wonderful buffet of all of the menu items that have been prepared that evening. So we all kind of had a smorgasbord and got to take home leftovers!
I am looking forward to taking another class here, but I think I will pick another class that has a smaller menu where all members can make all of the menu items.

The Pizza Parlor March 2, 2017The Friday night pizza class with Chef Regina was a blast! Between two people we made 6 pizzas, and they were all delicious! The instruction was phenomenal. Can't wait to try more classes!

Knife Skills February 4, 2017Had a great time at Knife Skills - dropped one star as it did drag a little in places (we spent about an hour on the sharpening part which I think could easily have been done in half the time with perhaps some additional equipment). Otherwise though, a great class!

The Whiskey Steakhouse January 15, 2017Took a 3.5 hour course on Tuscan steaks and related dishes (risotto, tiramisu, and a few others). The instructor was fun and I think I learned a few things in the course although it was a little chaotic at times with more disorganization than I anticipated. The staff was great and friendly. At $125, a bit on the pricier side but it is a 3-4 hour experience and there are leftovers to take home. Worth a try

The Pizza Parlor September 30, 2016We had a great team building experience at ICE and thoroughly enjoyed producing then eating what we had cooked.
The evening was very informal but we had a tour of the facility, a glass of wine then we got our hands dirty so to speak and made one of three courses we later consumed.
Our tutors were experienced chefs in there own right who had worked in restaurant kitchens and were now passing on there skills.
Our courses where explained and demonstrated making sure we understood the key points of getting right. The important things you just don't get in a recipe book we had demonstrated in front of us and we then got to practice.
All great fun and it tasted good too. -
Jaime S.
The Great New York Steakhouse September 20, 2016Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the "steakhouse experience ". There were sixteen people in the class and one chef. He basically just broke us into groups and handed us recipes. I could have followed a recipe at home without spending 130 each for me and my boyfriend. We didn't even see the steak until it was time to eat. And then, because all the food was made by people who want to Learn how to cook but had no supervision, it wasn't very good. We should have spent our money at a real steakhouse and skipped the class.

Couples Cooking: Sushi & Sake Bar September 9, 2016My wife surprised me with a cooking class here during a stay in New York. We had a fun evening meeting other couples and cooking new dishes. Definitely a great choice for a date night.

Knife Skills September 8, 2016It was equally a fun date and great learning experience. Sue was eager to teach everyone proper care for knives and being practical about the equipment one has in a kitchen. She also took requests on what we wanted to learn, such as mincing garlic (her way is SO QUICK AND EASY). On top of that, the salsa we made was delicious. Thumbs up all around and looking forward to taking more classes with ICE!

The Pizza Parlor August 19, 2016Just finished my 4th class at ICE, the first at their new location. If you are a fan of cooking shows, then this is your place. An expert chief leads you thru prep and execution of a gormet meal. The work stations are fully equipped and the best part is somebody else does the dishes. I feature myself as a better than average cook and I learn new techniques at every session. Never cooked anything before, no problem. The staff walks you thru everything you need. Single or couple or small group. Again, this place accommodates all. The best thing is it is fun and you eat what you just cooked. Faculty teaching are amazingly helpful. love this place

The Whiskey Steakhouse July 11, 2016We had so much fun cooking with whiskey! The instructors (Stephanie and Veronica) were knowledgable and helpful, the other students were friendly and fun, and the menu was delicious! We can't wait to cook it all again to share with our friends!

Knife Skills May 23, 2016The best part was when she showed us how to dice an onion without making our eyes water.
It was a great, intimate, well-organized class. -

Asian Dumplings May 18, 2016Excellent class - learned alot. Very cool facility! Felt like a pro! Would definitely return for another class. If you are trying to improve your skills, this is the place! Also a really fun thing to do with a group of friends or treat a friend as a birthday gift. It's an evening you will remember. Inspirational!

The Whiskey Steakhouse May 14, 2016This is the only place you should be taking cooking classes if you actually want to learn and apply your new skills. I'm an amateur chef and have taken classes at various schools around the city...then I took a cake decorating class at ICE. This is what a cooking school should look like--full cooking stations, enough burners and oven space for everyone, comprehensive directions and demonstrations, and top-notch tools and supplies. Can't wait to take more classes here!
-
Vaughn O.
Couples Cooking: Pizza and Wine Bar May 11, 2016The classes are intense great atmosphere for learning! The chefs really take time to explain.

Asian Dumplings May 1, 2016Excellent experience in ICE's new location. Four hours of hands-on learning in modern professional kitchen with other enthusiastic strangers, bonding over chopping boards, steaming pots, and a well-seasoned, well-deserved meal. Instructor and staff shared their culinary expertise, their passion for delicious foods, and their sense of humor. Check the website and pick your favorite recreational cooking adventure. Top chefs, look out!

Knife Skills February 10, 2016Totally worth it! I learned so much. Not only did I learn how to properly hold a knife, I also learned how to properly treat and cut fruits and vegetables. Chef Sarah was awesome. Right after the class, I signed up for 2 more ICE classes through Vimbly.

Couples Cooking: Sushi & Sake Bar January 17, 2016I was a career student almost a decade ago at the old location on 23rd and I came back for a fun weekend with 3 classes. What a stunning new space. Great kitchens, delicious recipes, fun instructors, and well worth the time and money. I love the recreational classes and will be back for more....next time I'm bringing friends too!

All About Technique: Roast, Saute, and Steam April 18, 2014The best part was the instructor took her time and wasn’t frazzled. Many times you see instructors rushing to fit everything in the time allotted which comes off as very high anxiety. Liz Young was very cool and still took the time to throughout explain and answer questions. Loved her.
-
Rachel S.
Knife Skills March 10, 2014Fun class! The teacher was really thorough, helpful and interesting. The class went by very quickly. I learned a lot.
-
Paul C.
The Pizza Parlor March 7, 2014My team went here for a pizza making class and we had a blast! It's more like an event more than a class. They provided wine and cheese/bread to start us off. Then came a short picture time followed by a pizza-making class. The "class" was really a 15-minute demonstration of how to make it. Afterwards, we were given pizza dough to stretch out to make our own pizza! Highly recommended for a team offsite event. They have other courses like sushi, etc.
-
McKellen R.
Knife Skills January 29, 2014It was Sue's first time teaching the class, and she did a fantastic job! I loved her enthusiasm and clear love for cooking. She had a wealth of tips such as supreming an orange, dicing tomatoes, and how to chiffonade basil. She even cooked a delicious chicken for us, what a bonus!
-

Knife Skills October 18, 2013Great class! Brendan McDermott's high energy is entertaining as well as informative. The format of the class worked with an opportunity to practice the correct way to use knives,. The handout with diagrams of the knives was helpful A specific handout with the key feature would be ideal for reviewing at home, after the class,
-

Knife Skills October 15, 2013My husband and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was well-organized, entertaining and very productive! You will definitely be seeing us again in the future.

Knife Skills August 26, 2013Chef Brendan McDermott was amazing, his class was comprehensive for beginners, easy to follow and the immediate results were evident. We left the class and signed up for Knife Skills 2 class immediately and couldn't wait to get home and slice up some vegetables for dinner. If you are serious about taking responsibility for your own food prep and health this is a must do foundational class. We have greater confidence in the kitchen now. Thank you so much to Chef McDermott, we can't wait for the next class.

Spanish Surf & Turf June 25, 2013A fun time!

Knife Skills May 21, 2013Knife skills was the most useful class ever. Everyone can use a knife in the kitchen, but learning the skills to use a knife effectively made so much difference in shortening the time I spent cooking. Even things like learning how to dice properly makes a lot of difference. Excellent!
-
Clinton M.
Knife Skills May 18, 2013It was awesome Chef McDermott is not a good teacher but a good guy. Will recommend this to my friends

NOLA: American Regional Favorites January 24, 2013I've taken a few classes at ICE and send my friends there all the time. A recent NOLA class was such fun with some really great recipes! I have not had a crawfish etouffee that good in years! In the fall, you can take classes all about pumpkins or do a green market class in the spring and summer.
I even sent my husband off all on his own to learn how to grill when we bought a house. He really enjoyed the class and found the instructors to be patient and excellent teachers.
My only advice: if you see something you really want to take, book early! Popular classes fill up quickly!
Thanks ICE. Such fun!! -
